The experience

At our guesthouse located in the historic Yoshiwara shopping district—once a lively post town—your main tasks will be cleaning and making beds. The area still carries a charming, retro atmosphere, offering new discoveries every time you walk through it. After work, you can enjoy a relaxing stroll along the river or visit local shops for a meal or drink, spending your free time at your own pace✨


What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate Japanese

Between 20 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Travelers from all over the world stay at the guesthouse, so you’ll meet many people while contributing to a clean, welcoming environment.


Activities & Shift

In a guesthouse, the housekeeping staff are responsible for ensuring that guest rooms and shared areas remain clean and comfortable. In guest rooms, staff make beds and change linens🛏️, clean dust and dirt, vacuum or mop floors, and clean and disinfect bathroom and toilet facilities.

Towels and toiletries are replaced, and amenities are restocked as needed.

Common areas such as hallways, kitchen, lounge, and lobby are also cleaned regularly, and garbage is collected and taken out.

Housekeeping may also involve checking supplies and amenities inventory, inspecting equipment or fixtures, and reporting any damage or maintenance issues.
