Gardening & School Maintenance
The experience
Help us keep our garden beautiful 🌿 and support small maintenance tasks around the school. We’re looking for volunteers who enjoy working outdoors, planting, watering, and organizing green areas. Your help makes our English school look even more welcoming for students and visitors!
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Painting & Decorating:
Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
Gardening:
Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:

Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate Spanish
Between 18 and 70 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details
Our volunteer program at Brighton English School (Manta, Ecuador) offers cultural exchange and collaboration opportunities with local students and teachers. Volunteers support our English program, maintenance, and community projects while immersing themselves in Ecuadorian culture. Accommodation and a positive learning environment are provided in exchange for help with school tasks.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers usually work 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Tasks include gardening and keeping the outdoor areas beautiful, assisting with light maintenance, organizing materials, and helping the school team when needed. Shifts are typically in the morning or early afternoon, allowing time to explore Manta and nearby beaches.
Rules
Be punctual and responsible with assigned tasks.
Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward students and staff.
Keep shared spaces clean and organized.
No smoking or alcohol consumption inside the school property.
Communicate with the coordinator if you need schedule changes or time off.
