Gardening, Cleaning, and Housekeeping
Amazing Volunteer and lovely person Proactive. Hardworking and sociable Was great with the guests and always gave them a friendly welcome and smile I would highly recommend Rachael as a volunteer
First the property is just stunning, I didn't even want to explore the area when the farm is so beautiful. Roy is so kind and accommodating and runs a great experience for the guests. The actual work was super easy and quick so there is plenty of time to rest. Although the place is remote, the bus is only a 20 minute walk to get to the city. Really recommend if you want a peaceful escape and a look into the Irish countryside in Cork.
Housekeeping
I had an amazing time at the hostel! Helene was a joy and both her and Dave were quick to respond and made sure everything was in order. The location of the hostel is just perfect and it's a good size, meaning the work load was never too overwhelming. If there was a big group staying Helene would help us with the cleaning. The other volunteers were amazing too. There wasn't a set amount of hours we had to work, it was based on how much needed to be cleaned. We were able to get free bikes and some money for food was provided which was amazing, wish I could have stayed longer!

Rachael’s time volunteering at my place was truly valuable. She always listened, understood, and brought creative ideas that made our website more vibrant, while also demonstrating a rare sense of responsibility. I would be delighted to recommend her to any place that could benefit from the skills and enthusiasm of someone like her.
Bich became a friend so quickly, and makes sure everyone is comfortable. The homestay is so beautiful and everyday Bich will take you into the village to experience nature, interact with the community, or learn about the culture and then we did the work at night. The homestay is hard to get to, but Bich is so helpful with arranging transportation and making sure you get there safe. I miss it already and recommend the home's the home to any volunteer or traveler for the most authentic experience. Bich is so special and it was just so great!!
Worldpackers Academy was created to prepare the travel community to be committed and engaged volunteers.
Concluded the course "Nonviolent communication: resolving conflicts and dealing with challenging situations" in which learned how to solve challenging and conflict situations through healthy and empathic communication.
This course has been specifically designed to assist volunteers in preparing for non-routine situations, understanding the fundamentals of living in a community, recognizing the differences between life in the city and the countryside, selecting and supporting projects in achieving their objectives, and learning some basic permaculture concepts to help your project flourish!
Completed the course "Host X Volunteer Guide: How to Prepare to Volunteer at Hostels " in which he learned how to be accepted, what community hosts look for in travellers, and how to prepare for a volunteer experience.
How the traveler helps the Worldpackers community besides volunteering.

Hi! I'm Rachael, the founder of Planned in Pink a virtual creative agency. I am a travel blogger, content creator, and bullet journalist living in NYC at the moment!
I received my Bachelors degree in Communication with a minor in Public Relations and a Concentration in Writing from Worcester State University in 2019 and graduated Cum Laude.
I have worked as a retail supervisor and a Sales Coordinator at a Hotel organizing the wedding room blocks and other events. Most recently, I started my own business, Planned in Pink, where I help small business owners with their marketing efforts such as social media management, email marketing, content writing, and graphic design. As part of Planned in Pink I also blog about travel, bullet journaling, and social media tips.
In 2019 I studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain for three weeks taking an international marketing course. My most adventurous trip was taking a train with my best friend across the entire USA, from Boston to San Francisco! Last November I took my first solo trip to Portugal, staying in Porto and Lisbon. Over the last few years traveling has become a top priority in my life, whether domestic or international as I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and cities!
