We are pleased to invite you to join us for a life-changing volunteer experience at Adya Community, where international volunteers will play a pivotal role in advancing global literacy.

“Global Literacy is a basic literacy training program designed to improve fluency and responsiveness for cross-cultural understanding, communication, engagement, and participation in an interconnected world. We define these as global literacy skills. We offer free English classes, led by foreign facilitators, to the children, parents, and teachers of Adya Community members in order to achieve this goal.”

Whether you are an experienced English instructor or just beginning your educational journey, there is a place for you. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to facilitate English classes with the support of our dedicated staff, who will assist you with translation and guidance. If you are not yet confident enough to lead, there is still a valuable role for you as an assistant facilitator. Our team will work closely with you to build your skills, empowering you to lead a class with confidence by the end of your stay.

During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Indonesian culture and participate in a variety of community-based activities, including Indonesian language classes, traditional regional dance, turtle conservation programs, and singing lessons. A key highlight of this experience is an introductory training course on creating contextual picture books that promote emotional and psychological well-being. As an international volunteer, you will acquire valuable knowledge in designing picture books that support mental health and personal growth. This experience will not only enhance the lives of those you work with but also guide your own journey of self-discovery, fostering your emotional and psychological well-being.

This journey is not only about giving and supporting the children empowerment program but also about personal growth. As you engage with the community and embrace the culture, you will deepen your understanding of the world and your own personal development. Whether you choose to stay for one week or eight weeks, you will make a meaningful contribution to global literacy and education, while gaining skills and experiences that will have a lasting impact on your life.
