Become a volunteer with us in Agger – right by the wild North Sea
L'esperienza
Out here, there’s space to breathe – and time to slow down.
You can surf, swim, sail, hike, or simply enjoy the peace of National Park Thy.
No matter the season, the nature around us is truly special – from crashing waves to quiet dunes.
Summer is our busiest time, but we also welcome volunteers during the quieter months.
If you’d like to experience a unique corner of Thy – and be part of our small hostel community – we’d love to hear from you!

Dettagli del programma
What does a typical volunteer day look like at Agger Hostel?
As a volunteer, you help with the daily tasks that keep the hostel running – and make a real difference for both our guests and our small team.
A typical workday is around 4 hours. The main task is cleaning, tidying up, and preparing rooms for new guests.
It’s important that you have some experience with cleaning – it doesn’t need to be professional, but you should be willing to take responsibility for the task and do it with care.
Other tasks may include:
Doing dishes after breakfast
Light outdoor work or garden tasks if there’s no cleaning that day
(Optional) Small maintenance tasks or hosting help, depending on the season
Seasonal focus:
Summer: Most of the volunteer work is cleaning and preparing rooms, as this is when we are busiest with guests.
Winter: Work shifts more towards maintenance and preparation for the next season. During this period, you may also help in the kitchen or with serving at larger events.
We always work together – and we always make time for a coffee break.
The rest of the day is yours: to relax, explore nature, or enjoy time with other volunteers and guests.

Important Information for International Volunteers
To participate as a volunteer with us, the following applies:
You must have a valid residence permit that allows you to work in Denmark.
For young people from countries like South Korea, Australia, Canada, etc., this typically means a Working Holiday visa.
We carry out tasks such as cleaning, kitchen help, gardening, and general maintenance – therefore, your visa/permit must cover work.
Practical: Please apply for your visa well in advance of your arrival, as processing can take several weeks
