L'esperienza

Hi! We are Pablo and Rocío, brother and sister. We live in a rural area near a small town in San Luis, Argentina.
We built our own home using permaculture techniques and now we are looking for volunteers to help us build another house, with stone and wood as the main materials.
Construction may involve some heavy work so you have to be physically fit for that
We will also love to share our free time chatting, playing games and showing you around

Dettagli del programma

Important things about the place:
Our home is 5km away from the center of the town. If you want to go we can lend you a bike (of course if we have to go you can join us)
We use solar energy for electricity and for hot water. We also have a dry toilet.
There is wifi in the house
We are lucky to live in a place with beautiful landscapes, but being close to nature implies coexisting with it: there will always be bugs in the house (ants, spiders, wasps, bees...), it's also very common to find toads and more rarely but possible, snakes. A lot of the vegetation has spikes, so be prepared to leave with a scratch or two.
We also live with two cats (Humberto and Océano) and a dog (Chapati). They are all very friendly

About the meals: we can have dinner together but we will ask you to contribute with something to prepare the meal (sometimes we have dinner with friends and everybody has to bring something)

About the work: we will be building the walls of the cabin. The bottom part is going to be made of stone, but before the building we have to collect the stones from around, so we will probably have "harvesting" days and building days.
Additionally there are other projects we can work on in the house/garden and every idea will be welcomed

And in your free time?
We live close to the river, so that's always a good plan. There are a few nice spots to spend the day.
My brother and I love board games. We have a pretty decent collection and we play almost every day. On Fridays we invite friends for game night.
If you like dancing and want to learn something traditional, you can take a tango or folklore class in the cultural center.
Of course if you are not from Argentina you cannot leave without having a proper Asado and trying the best alfajores.

Attività e turni

You are going to be working with us, normally 3 or 4 hours a day. Usually work will be done in the morning, but it's flexible depending on the weather or other activities of the day
