L'esperienza

We need a volunteer helping us with our content : taking pictures and filming the everyday life in our Beach House, music events that we host, the life of our volunteers, all the cool activities around Wilderness (surf, paraglide, hikes, tours etc.)

Enjoy your free time chilling around a bonfire, going for a surf, a hike, a swim at waterfalls, you name it! We offer many outdoor activities as well as nice locals. And who can say no to this view??

Dettagli del programma

Sleeping arrangements:
You will sleep in provided accommodations, such as safari-style tents or dorm rooms if necessary.

Meals:
We provide breakfast every day.
• Breakfast – Pap or Oats (10h00) If you want to eat earlier, you have your own food.
• Lunch – Your own food OR soup & bread
• Supper – Your own food OR sandwiches
• Instant Coffee & Tea available as much as you want
There are different meal times, depending on your shift time.

Laundry:
There is a Laundromat in the village where you can drop your washing and get it back same day washed and dry. This will be at your own expense. Or you can handwash here.
Unfortunately, we only have one washing machine that is used for our linen, towels etc. that needs to be washed daily all day. We do not have a tumble dryer.

How to get here:
You can take a ight into George which is 25km from us and we will pick you up.
There are also bus options:
• Bazbus – a bus specifically for backpackers, more expensive, but more convenient and will drop you off right at our doorstep. You can use this “hop-on-hop-off – ticket” also if you want to travel the Garden Route on your off days. It is valid for one year.
• Intercape / Big Sky – stops Wilderness (Caltex Garage) where we will pick you up (+- 4km from us). It has another stop about 8km from us at the Sasol Garage.

Weather:
• Summer (November – March) 14 -32 degrees.
• Winter (April – October) 8 – 25 degrees.
It tends to rain sporadically throughout the year, so it’s good to bring a raincoat. Also, it can get chilly at night, so at least bring a light jacket, even for summer.

General notes:
You get 30% discount on your drinks. When on duty, you may only drink from 21h00 even if guests buy you drinks.

Attività e turni

Working Hours:
You will work a minimum of 30 hours per week, focused on:
• Filming video content
• Capturing high-quality photographs
• Editing the content
• Sending completed material weekly via WeTransfer to claremcauiffe.cm@gmail.com

Equipment Use:
You will use their own camera, editing software, and any necessary equipment for the creation of content.

Creative Direction:
You will receive a content wish list via email from Clare detailing weekly tasks and key projects to focus on. You are encouraged to take advantage of:
• Good weather opportunities
• Free experiences from local tour operators
• Beach and surf settings for dynamic reels

Submission of Work:
All edited content should be submitted weekly, and final reels will be posted online by Clare. You will be credited as the creators of the content where applicable.

Permission Requirements:
You must request verbal permission from individuals being filmed and ensure that privacy is respected.

Regole

No marijuana/ weed smoking on the premises or during your work hours. You will be asked to leave if you do not adhere to this.

Your friends may not enter the dormitory.

You are encouraged to communicate openly about any concerns with the management team.

You must respect the property, fellow volunteers, and guests at all times.
