Meet and Work with Shankari was an incredible experience, she's an amazing artist and woman, I really enjoyed learning mosaic techniques from her and her art, paintings and jewellery are incredible. Her house is a piece of art that's she built up over the years, just need a bit of maintenance.

Shankari is a beautiful person. i learned about the balinese culture and about her fascinating life. the house is a mosaic palace that needs a bit of love. i think the room in which we stayed is getting fixed up as i write this, which is good because we weren't very comfortable with the beds and bedding (didn't feel very safe to sleep in). eitherway i learned a new skill. i loved making mosaics and leaving a mark on the house. you have a lot of time to explore the town and eating with the locals. it's a nice place to just disappear for a little bit. love you, shankari!!! forever in my heart

This was my first worldpacker experience and I cannot raccomend any better! I learned a beautiful skill and I wish I can have some mosaic in my future place. The house is magical and it is sorrounded by wonderful nature. The work shift was perfect, three hours a day and then we could enjoy the rest of the time exploring Bali and rest. I was lucky because I become friend with the other volunteer, otherwise you don't really spend time with the host so prepare yourself to be independent. the project invited us twice for dinner and we really appreciated that and were happy to get to know her better

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't ask for more. the project Art the project is a magical place and I really enjoyed the work, I found a friend meeting the other volunteer and the nature around the house is something really incredible.

My stay at Shankari's was very nice, Shankari herself and her son Akasha made sure we feel comfortable and we got recommendations what places are worth visiting in our free time. The accommodation has a phenomenal view, even though it's not for everyone. I originally came to take videos and photos, however i helped out with the mosaic with the other volunteers. I didn't mind and had fun, however when applying for this position you have to realise your task will be a different one. Overall i had a great time and can definitely recommend volunteering here.

We had a great time exploring the surrounding nature und nearby village. the workers were super kind and helpful, we felt really comfortable with them. however, the sleeping facilities are not as discribed. Many open „windows“, doors can't be closed, cats in the room, bedsheets not clean at all, that's what you should prepare for before staying there. we're sure it was different some time ago, but during our stay there were only 1-2 other volunteers, so the work was fun but other than that it was no place to socialize for us. The work was as described - 3h per day doing beautiful mosaics!

My experience at Shankari the project was really great! I had the chance to live in a hidden gem in Bali, full of art and nature. It's also really nice to experience Balian culture and meeting with the locals, it was a unique experience. The staff is great, they are very open to communication and can help you if you have any problems. I'm giving 4 stars just because I was expecting the place to be cleaner, but I understand that it's different for everyone and that it's the volunteers responsibility to keep our space clean 🤍

Chegada marcada p/ domingo, mas me avisaram em cima da hora que só aceitavam voluntários segunda e terça até 11:30. Então teria que pagar estadia em outro local.O prédio era abandonado literalmente…banheiros sujos, mofo, poeira, roupa de cama imunda . A cama na varanda abert, sem energia. Reclamei e me deram um quarto que devia estar fechado a anos . O trabalho começou logo que cheguei, sem considerar se tinha cansaço do voo. Materiais em pessimas condições , além dos espinhos era perto demais da rede elétrica. Para usar a cozinha, tínhamos que comprar tudo água gás . Fui embora de manhã

In the beginning there was some communication issues. I applied to do social media and my tasks ending up being gardening and mosaics. Breakfast was not included like stated in the listing, but meals in town were affordable. I really enjoyed learning to make mosaics and the property is beautiful. I made connections with fellow volunteers. Thank you for the experience.

Thank you for leaving us a review. Apologies for the misunderstanding with food it is not included as food is in abundance here and there are many delicious options available in the village for very cheap. Thank you for all of your diligent and focused work with us.

Really one of a kind experience. Fun to learn about mosaic tiling and be apart of the local small village in bali for a bit.
