I loved my time at the hostel, it's such a social hostel and you quickly feel at home! Lara and Lautaro are clear with their expactations and they're easy to communicate with. The work takes some time to understand, but once you got it, the work is pretty easy and chill. As a volunteer you get a lot of discounts on tours (and even some for free) which is really nice, considering most activites in La Fortuna costs money. I would definitely recommend volunteering at the hostel, and I'll miss this place and all of the people I met here!

Lara and Lautaro are super sweet and funny and they really want you to go out and explore La Fortuna! The work is straightforward and the hours are respected. You get to meet so many international travelers as well! I had so much fun here and got to try so many new things like rafting, volcano hikes, zip lining, etc. The hostel is really clean and has such a welcoming and social atmosphere. I reccomend this experience!! 10/10 ❤️‍🔥

El voluntariado fue increible. Una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida. Lautaro y Lara te hacen sentir parte de la familia desde el primer momento. El trabajo es fácil y divertido, y permite interactuar con todos los huespedes, creando un ambiente muy bueno. Todas las actividades de la fortuna son compatibles con los horarios del voluntariado y los propietarios siempre estan abiertos a cambios de horarios y otras posibles soluciones. Con sus descuentos, pude hacer todos los tours a muy bajo precio y además tuve oportunidad de visitar Samara con su otro hostel.Recomiendo 100% el hostel

I had such a great time here! Lara is so welcoming and took very good care of me during my stay. She also had great recommendations for things to do. It was a fun environment in the hostel and you will meet a lot of different travelers. My spanish really improved during my stay. I also got to go on some free and discounted tours which were incredible. The food available in the hostel served as a basis for my meals and they were often free cooked meals or snacks available. my cleaning shift was 8:30 to around 1:30 with breaks, 6 days a week. would definitely recommend this experience!

Minha experiência no hostel foi super agradável e positiva, o Hostel é limpo e organizado, e as pessoas que trabalham no hostel, Lautauro, Laura e DuDu são muito gente boa, acolhedoras e fazem você se sentir confortável! As tarefas são simples e bem definidas, La Fortuna tem vários hikes para quem gosta, super recomendo! ;)

Fue una gran experiencia! Desde el primer día el trato recibido por Lautaro, Lara, Jairo y los demás voluntarios fue muy bueno, lo que me ayudo mucho a familiarizarme con las diferentes tareas y adaptarme a un nuevo lugar como este. Las tareas son variadas pero sencillas y los horarios de trabajo se respetan correctamente. En cuanto al lugar, el hostel está muy bien situado muy cerca del centro de La Fortuna, con muchas actividades alrededor. Además, pude hacer muchos tours con descuento o incluso gratis, lo que es de agradecer! Gracias por todo!

This was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and I loved it. I stayed a month and did not want to leave. You end up feeling like family, and there is just SO much to do in La Fortuna. The job itself takes some time to learn, but after a week you start to feel more comfortable (I did reception). I had such a good time with the other volunteers and guests! It was the best hostel I've stayed at- super cute, curtains on the bed, lockers in the room, very clean, etc. I loved Lara and Lautaro and had so much fun with them, they make you feel like family!

I had a great time at the hostel. The job itself wasn't bad and I quickly felt at home. I grew really close with the other volunteers, who made this a great experience. I was doing house keeping and worked 8:30-1:30, 6 days a week (with breaks during the shift). Lara and Lautaro were friendly and encouraged us to get out of the hostel and explore the area when we weren't working. Lara was very helpful with booking my shuttle to get there and volunteers got discounts on the tours and shuttle. We were provided with some staff food to make our own meals which was really nice.

Fue mí primera experiencia como voluntario, Lara y Lautaro me apoyaron desde el principio, incluso accediendo a acomodar nuestros horarios para estar más cómodos. El lugar es hermoso, súper centrico, podes ser parte de muchos y variados tours que forman parte de la estadía del hostel, y hay un bar en la terraza. Lara y Lautaro tienen ganas de hacer crecer constantemente su proyecto, por lo cual, aprecian sugerencias y, sobre todo, una actitud proactiva. Súper recomendado!

I really enjoyed my time here. Lara and Lautaro are very kind and generous people that took great care of me during my stay. They made sure I had lots of fun outside the work hours, and the work itself wasn't too bad. They were very respectful of my time. I was also provided with plenty of food to serve as a base for my meals which was really awesome. The area is great for hiking and site seeing, so I really recommend this if you're looking to stay in La Fortuna while working for your accommodation. One of my favorite stays in Costa Rica!!
