It's the best decision you can make. You are living like you are in the home. Everything is just amazing. Joan is really lovely and did so much nice things for us and with us + her home is like living the dream. She also prepared a lot of really nice dishes and helped us out with different things. We are so grateful that we got this experience. It was such an amazing time. We would definitely recommend it. Maya and Evita

Joan's house feels like the home, our stay was a 10/10. Joan is so sweet, once a day she conjured up a phenomenal meal for us, which we ate together. We had lots of great conversations and she always drove us on our excursions like Magnetic Island, secondhand shopping or line dancing. We felt so incredibly comfortable in her house, including the pool. Thank you from the bottom of our heart, Joan, for everything! You Maya and Evita🤍

The best experience with Joan. The house is spectacular, Joan does everything to make us feel at ease. Working with Joan is very easy, she provides all the materials there and gives very good guidance for the work. Joan sooooo friendly and really enjoys showing around the city, restaurants, cafes. Amazing Joan and I hope come back soon.

I really felt like living in the home! All my time there with Joan was amazing, she is a divine cook and treated me with so much respect that I have nothing to say but thank her. She respects our time, our privacy and our tastes. Caring for that place was a privilege and being able to enjoy everything there even more, the beach, the pool, the gardens and even more the wild life. Waking up with kangaroos in my bedroom window was amazing. Joan also takes her time to take us around the city and see a lot of new places. This was a great opportunity and I would 100% do it again!

My time at Joan's was a great experience and a very memorable time. Her place is truly a getaway to a magical the home! Joanie is kind, caring & an excellent cook! 1 meal per day was offered, but each meal she cooked you could taste the amount of care and effort that went into it. All ingredients usually organic or picked straight from her garden! All tasks and jobs were discussed upon the first few days of arrival, we picked a project and stuck to it (while doing other the home jobs like tending to the garden, pool upkeep, etc). Working days were often rewarded with a treat or an adventure!

From the moment I met Joanie, her warmth and kindness were clear. Her home is a peaceful retreat, allowing you to fully embrace the relaxed lifestyle of Balgal Beach. The room felt like a home away from home—cozy and comfortable. Her garden is full of fresh produce—fruits, veggies, basil, and lemongrass—which she uses in her delicious, home-cooked meals. Joanie's generosity and care shine in everything she does, from cooking to conversation. The tasks were enjoyable and balanced with time to relax. And her chai tea? Absolutely perfect! I'm truly grateful for this amazing experience ❤️

Had an amazing time as a world packer with Joanie! She lives in a lovely area, right on the beach where we got to see some of the amazing animals Australia has to offer. Joanie was so welcoming and caring and cooked amazing meals for us! It was super chill and fun to work on projects with Joan around her property. Joan was also super helpful and supportive in helping me find a job for my 88 days and get on my feet in Australia! I would really recommend coming here if you want to escape and chill out in nature

How do I even start. Working with Joanie had transformed my experience in Australia! I got here thinking I would stay temporarily while I figured out my rural 88 days requirement. Joanie was so excited to show me around and support me in my journey that within a week I secured a job at a local golf club and am now in a stable situation to continue living and working in Australia even after my volunteering is over! She has been incredible! The work is fun and rewarding as well, and she is super accomedating to personal needs. Loved every second. Ps. She is a great cook!
