My experience volunteering at the home was great! Ricardo was very welcoming and made sure to not only make you feel at home, but you will also meet other locals though him. The place is very beautiful (especially at sunset) and El Remate is a cute little village. What you need to know beforehand though, is that as El Remate is very small, except for some day trips, there is not much to do. If you're looking for a calm and relaxing experience this volunteer option is perfect, if you want a little more social interaction though, two weeks are a very long time to stay there.

I really enjoyed my time volunteering with Ricardo at the home. The work was very chilled and it was amazing to spend time with the kids at the local school which enabled me to immerse myself in the culture and work on my Spanish. Although the location was outside of Flores the lake and local area meant there was enough to do and it felt like you were apart of the local community. The only thing was that there was not many other volunteers staying there during my time so it wasn't the most social.

El Remate is a beautiful place and I have loved my time here. It's very quiet and peaceful so it's good if your looking for a chilled time. The absolute highlight was going to the local school every day. The children are amazing and we had so much fun playing different games (mainly football) and introducing some games in English which they picked up super quickly. Ricardo is an excellent host and his project with the local school is great, I would recommend this experience 100% just be aware you will likely be the only volunteer here .

Very relaxing town Richi is a great host and has two cute dogs. He brought us to meet local friends and hang out with us. We also had a great time getting along with the local children.

It was my first workaway but it could not have been better. We spent our days swimming in the lake and exploring the nearby places. The children were really sweet and I really hope they're gonna have a better future. I definitely recommend this experience to anyone who likes children, nature and chill vibes.

Mi experiencia fue agradable, pude compartir con los huéspedes, personas locales y el dueño del hostel. Realmente es como se describe, te dan un lugar cómodo, limpio y Ricardo siempre se encargó de que no faltará nada por lo que se cumplió con todo y me sentí respetada. Además es una persona de la cual aprendí bastante, tiene muy buenas ideas, es súper flexible y siento que conectamos muy bien. Estoy agradecida de haber estado aquí y de él quien hizo mi experiencia muy bonita y tranquila.

El voluntariado en the home fue una hermosa experiencia, Richi es un gran anfitrión y super linda persona, también Cherry, la chica que trabaja con él es super agradable, me llevo dos nuevas amistades 🤍 La ubicación del lugar es muy privilegiada, estás a la orilla del lago y puedes nadar, las instalaciones son muy cómodas, es el lugar ideal para descansar y desconectar un poco, conectar con la naturaleza y estar en un ambiente tranquilo. Si estás en búsqueda de lo anterior te recomiendo mucho la experiencia en the home, las tareas son bastante simples y tienes mucho tiempo libre ✨

Ricardo é uma pessoa muito tranquila e divertida, seu hostel é um lugar maravilhoso e calmo!! está a 30 minuto da ilha de flores e muito acessível aos principais pontos turísticos. vim em baixa temporada então acabou que as vezes não havia muito trabalho, é um lugar ótimo pra relaxar e me senti sempre muito confortável, recomendo demais :)

A wonderful experience at the home! I learned the bartending trade and gave English lessons to children in a school. El Remate is a very pleasant and authentic town to live in, and the home offers the best view of the sunset !!🤩 I recommend this enriching experience 100% ! Thanks for everything Richi 🤗🌞
