My experience at the shelter was a really great time to disconnect from my phone and experience the simple beauty of living in the jungle. I really have enjoyed working with the spider monkeys and learning about them, and we all complete tasks collaboratively. I also made some really great friendships and had great laughs. Much of the tasks is cleaning cages, prepping food and feeding, as well as cutting enrichment to bring into the cages. You also help prepare meals for other volunteers from time to time. It's a quite beautiful area and I enjoyed my day off to hang in Rurrenabaque.

Living and working in the jungle to help rehabilitate the shelter has been an unforgettable experience both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Every day is spent alongside a dedicated team, caring for animals that have rescued. Watching them recover and regain their natural behaviors is truly heartwarming. The bond formed with both the animals and the team creates a sense of purpose and family that makes the hard work worth it. The living conditions definitely aren't a 5 star hotel. Just be prepared to be throw in it.

I had a great time at the shelter, it's the perfect place to meet people who are passionate about helping animals. The work can be challenging but is always rewarding. You are working with wild animals and living in the jungle so be prepared to get stuck in.

I had a great experience working with the spider monkeys, watching how they interact and communicate with each other was really fascinating. You can tell everyone here is committed to the animals well-being and the goal of rehabilitation and release. It's great to be part of a team that genuinely puts the animals first. That said, the life in the jungle has its challenges. The living conditions are very basic and the humidity means you're always a bit damp and your clothes never quite dry. But if you're passionate about the shelter it's definitely worth it!

This experience was amazing! I stayed for 4 weeks and got to work with the spider monkeys. I loved the work and the monkeys. I will say that there were a few hard things. Absolutely no personal or private space whatsoever. If your not on shift, You are often around people, and smoke. If you love people and you smoke then this is not an issue at all. I generally love people but I am not a smoker so this aspect was hard. However, do not let this deter you, the shelter is a great place to help animals and really be immersed in the jungle! They definitely need volunteers. Thanks the shelter!!

We absolutely loved our time at the shelter. It was incredible to work at a place where they are really rewilding the animals. It was hard work in the heat and humidity, but definitely worth it!

Tuve la oportunidad de participar como voluntario en un centro de rescate de fauna silvestre en la Amazonía boliviana, y fue una experiencia profundamente transformadora. Durante mi estadía, colaboré en el cuidado diario de diversos animales rescatados, participando en su alimentación, limpieza de recintos y apoyo en tareas de rehabilitación. El entorno natural es impresionante, completamente rodeado de selva, lo que permite una conexión única con la naturaleza. No hay señal ni acceso a internet, lo que puede ser un reto al inicio, pero también brinda una desconexión total del mundo moderno.

Tuve la oportunidad de ser voluntario en el refugio, un centro de rescate de vida silvestre en la selva amazónica de Bolivia, y fue una experiencia increíble. El trabajo con los animales es admirable, ayudé en su alimentación, limpieza y rehabilitación. El equipo es muy amable y comprometido. Es un entorno completamente natural, sin internet ni comodidades, lo que lo hace desafiante pero gratificante. Aunque el trabajo es duro, la conexión con la naturaleza y el impacto positivo lo valen. Recomiendo el refugio a quienes buscan una experiencia auténtica en conservación.
