The place is nice, a little town in the south of Finland. Working in the shop is easy, just normal tasks. Joel and Ahmed are amazing people, very easy to talk to. The cottage is a beautiful place, though sometimes the work can be a bit hard. Sofia is a very nice person. She needs help with some things because of her MS, but she will always explain clearly how she wants them done. After work it's nice to spend time with her, have sauna together, go to the lake, and talk. I really enjoyed the experience and hope you will too.

Την τρίτη ημέρα με πήγε με ένα φορτηγό να κουβαλήσω από ένα παρατημένο σχολείο μακριά από το κατάστημα που πήγα να προσφέρω τις υπηρεσίες μου κάτι βαριές ντουλάπες και άλλα πράγματα. Παρότι είπα ότι έχω πρόβλημα με την μέση μου έκανα αυτή την μεταφορά που δεν ήταν στην αρμοδιότητα μου για να βοηθήσω αφού με πήγαν πίσω να πάρω μια ζώνη που είχα για το πρόβλημα της μέσης μου. Ύστερα από αυτό μετά δύο ημέρες με ξαναπήγαν σε άλλο μέρος να μετακομίσουμε ένα ολόκληρο σπίτι. Αυτή ήταν η αιτία που έφυγα την άλλη ημέρα. Εάν ήξερα ότι ήθελαν εργάτη να κάνει μετακομίσεις δεν θα πήγαινα.

I spent 2 weeks in Savitaipale, and the area is beautiful. If you love hiking, this place is for you, as there isn't much else to do in this village. The work is simple and easy to understand, 25 hours a week, but it's flexible. There is separate accommodation for volunteers, and while cleanliness depends on us, it's perfectly equipped. I recommend it if you want to be close to nature and meet volunteers from different parts of the world!

Out of my 3 years of traveling now my time here stands out as a highlight for sure. Sofia is very welcoming and fun to talk to. Savitaipale and Sofia's cottage are beautiful places with access to ponds and lakes for swimming, ice skating, sledding, mini golf, sauna, hiking, biking, and more. I got the full Finnish sauna experience with Sofia and Mika at the cottage. They made my stay here both fun and informative. The accommodation is very comfy and the market being across the street makes getting groceries super convenient.

La flexibilidad con la comida y las horas de trabajo son lo mejor porque te permiten organizarte si como yo trabajas o tienes actividades remotas.

I stayed in Savitaipale for 14 days. We helped in a second hand shop. The tasks werent complicated. We mostly did cleaning, checking and sorting clothes and other stuff for the shop. The communication with our supervisors was good and honest. The working hours can be flexible. During my stay, we visited Sofias cottage. Beautiful place with stunning nature. I felt really comfortable and welcomed there with other volunteers. We had a chance to talk with locals. In your free time you can visit lake, ice skating, a watch tower or go on a walk. I really enjoyed my stay here. 100% recommend 🤗

The experience was amazing, the work I had to do was focused on the store and being able to check out items. The tasks were simple and you could have free time to do activities in Savitaipale like rowing in the lake, riding a bike, swimming in the municipal pool, skating, among others. The location is good with a supermarket in front. You have the freedom to have your own space with the volunteers. The area is excellent for hiking in the surroundings and looking for a quiet place. You will love the banana boxes!The people in the village are very friendly. Sofia, Mohamed are amazing hosts!!

My time in Finland was fantastic thanks to the stunning nature that surrounded us and also to the cultural experiences that I had there. Sofia is such a nice, welcoming and warm person who very kindly shared with me a lot of information related to Finland and the Finnish language.
