La verdad no me sentí bienvenida. No había nadie del staff para recibirme, solo otrxs voluntarios, los 2 primeros días estuve completamente sola en recepción, no tuve un entrenamiento adecuado y eran muchas tareas en el turno. Al acabar mi primer turno me faltó hacer una cosa, y recibí un mensaje de regaño por no haberlo hecho. Luego me cambiaron de habitación porque mi cama no estaba bloqueada entonces tuve que mover mis cosas al hacer el check-in de esa cama, fue una situación muy incomoda. Por ultimo, la experiencia no fue para nada ecosostenible, usan demasiado papel innecesariamente.

Primero que todo lamentamos mucho que tu voluntariado aquí no haya cumplido tus expectativas; sin embargo, es necesario aclarar algunos puntos, 1) si es cierto que al momento de tu llegada no se encontraba la encargada del hotel porque justamente ese día tuvo dos días de descansos, pero el chico de recepción Uber te recibió y dio una explicación sobre las tareas del voluntariado.
2) Se tomó la decisión de terminar tu voluntariado por no mantener una comunicación asertiva con tus compañeros.

The lodge is a beautiful place to stay, perfect if you're looking for a break from the city and party life. I do wish there had been better communication and more opportunities to get to know the staff.

I loved the place, work was reasonable and I truly connected with the nature! Also the food was amazing! Absolutely worth it and a great experience! My only heads up is that the employees are not very welcoming and even a bit rude some of them. But the owner is amazing and everything else as well!

The hostel is gorgeous, and we had a wonderful time. It is definitely a good place to rest, and we get along really well with the team (the staff and the volunteers). However, the volunteering description was barmaid, and I mainly was there to wash the dishes after breakfast or diner, da few juices and help translating from english to spanish. It ended up being ok, mainly because I had a great time with the staff. Finally, we started by sleeping in a tent, which was ok but a bit too small for the two of us, and were moved to a dorm in construction. Some things can be improved but it was ok.

The hostel is absolutely gorgeous, and I loved teaching yoga in the mornings. However, teaching at night meant dealing with a lot of mosquitos—definitely wear bug spray. Yummy food but a bit repetitive at times. They made extra food when asked bc were hungry). Volunteers stayed in tents by the river, but I asked to be moved and was accommodated, though my bed wasn't reserved properly, and I ended up in an unfinished dorm with a rickety bunk and a ladder that felt unsafe. The kitchen staff made volunteers feel unwelcome at times. I stayed 4 weeks—bit long, but the scenery was hard to leave!

Regarding staff friendliness, we understand that it might have been challenging to connect since you were busy working on your laptop for long hours. Our team always enjoys spending time with volunteers, but we also respect personal space, especially during work hours.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the lodge. The place is beautiful and the people are very kind. There are several waterfalls nearby that you can explore and a couple places you can visit nearby like the cacao farm and ecological reservation. I think the trade is very fair as you only work 25 hours and get 3 meals a day, all of which were delicious! If you are applying for the bartending position, it is mostly doing dishes and cleaning with occasionally helping guests and making juices. With that being said, I still think it is well worth it! I will miss this place:)

It was challenging to live in a volunteer dorm room since it is not finished so no doors and also I had to clime the construction leadder instead of stairs. Other than that, ppl work there is awesome and beautiful environment and all. I'd recommend this place !

I loved my time at the lodge! I volunteered as a yoga teacher, so taught twice a day with one day off a week. There are only one or two other volunteers at a time, and the guests tend to stay for 2 or 3 nights, so although their are plenty of people to mix with it is great if you want some peace and quiet, surrounded by beautiful nature :) the food provided is delicious, and there are some tours and several different activities you can do, as well as enjoying time by the pools :) a great experience, thank you!

Mi experiencia en la finca fue hermosa! Tuve la suerte de tener buena partner de voluntariado y ambas nos divertimos mucho aquí. El lugar es hermoso para hacer trekking y estar en la naturaleza, hicimos el tour de las cascadas con Álvaro el mejor guía ever! Además la finca en si es hermosa, te puedes relajar y tener tu espacio y también conocer gente súper chevere de todas partes. Yo daba dos clases de yoga al día, una de mañana y otra de tarde con un día libre a la semana. Las comidas estaban deliciosas y todas las chicas de la cocina son un amor! Mi paso por el alojamiento Dime fue muy bonito. El equipo me recibió bien y el lugar está lleno de naturaleza que te abraza desde el día 1. El voluntariado no es difícil, pero se puede volver un poco pesado si no te has movido en ambientes de gastronomía (y alta temporada). Hay trabajo en equipo. Falta comunicación por parte de los encargados de horarios, tareas, días libres (pero a la vez son exigentes con los horarios de comida que ellos te presentan) hacen una GRAN diferencia entre voluntario y huésped... Me voy con el corazón lleno y una experiencia maravillosa. GRACIAS!!
