You will be welcomed into our home to live as part of the family. We are a professional married couple living in a Scandinavian style house on a smallholding on the edge of a small village called Dolton in Devon (southwest of England). We need help to care for our gardens, the house, horses and dogs. It is great if you have some experience of horses but not essential - as long as you are aware that looking after horses is physical work.

I highly recommend this place! I've had a wonderful time and learned so much about horses and the beautiful garden with native English plants and Guernsey lilies. The dogs are absolutely adorable, and the accommodation is very comfortable. For all these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly recommend it! 🪻🐴🐶

I have spent two and a half wonderful months here and I highly recommend this establishment. The comfort of the house is excellent. The landscape is also very beautiful. It's an ideal place to relax and enjoy yourself. The dogs are very sweet too, and if you like horses, this is the perfect place. You will learn a lot about their nature, behaviour and the care they need to ensure their welfare. Most importantly, you get to connect with them through trust and respectful treatment. For all of this and more, I absolutely recommend this experience!

The experience was amazing. I am very grateful to Yolande and David. They were incredibly kind and respectful, for which I felt really like at home. They gave me the opportunity to learn and experience knowledge in a field of work that I had never experienced before, with regard to the professional care of horses and to gardening as well. It really transformed my life and my professional perspective, and that denotes a high level of advancement in terms of promotion and development, at a professional and educational level, among young people and also women from a local venture. That was my first time volunteering, I'm grateful I could be part of the whole atmosphere, that I could see all those fabulous places Dolton and its neighbourhood can offer! Yolande and David treated my with so much love!They're very inspiring people,I was amazed how they are commited to their lifestyle. The community is truly accepting, I loved attending art group with the lovely ladys! Dolton is remote and exactly that is its magic, you can stroll in the forest, climb up the hills, enjoy the views by the river. I will never forget the memories I gained during my stay, it was lifechanging!

I spent a wonderful month in Dolton and couldn't be more grateful. Yolande and David welcomed me with open arms, and the village community made my time even more special. Through activities like art group, I met so many inspiring people. Dolton's peaceful, remote setting made it the perfect place to slow down and recharge. My tasks in February involved stable work, along with household chores. If you want to take a break from everyday life while growing personally, this is the perfect place for you. But be warned: saying goodbye is hard because in Dolton, you'll find a second family! ❤️
