My time at the hostel was so special! The staff is so friendly and the hostel is a great place to meet people and have a good time. Definitely recommend planning a couple of trips in advance if you are wanting to travel around Guatemala during your time as Flores is pretty far from most places. But overall is was a lovely trip and the hostel took great care of us 🫶🏻

Fue un mes especial! Acabé el año y comencé 2024 en el hostel! Un lugar con muchísimo ambiente, y muy buen rollo! Trabaja mucha gente local, con lo cual también es fácil involucrarse y ser parte de la vida chapina. Me llevo muy buen recuerdo del lugar!

The hostel was a really fun experience. The work was manageable and allowed for time to explore the surrounding areas. The staff were super helpful with helping organising day trips and planning future travels. I worked in the nightbar with Jorge as our manager. He made the experience really fun and welcoming. I think with help from the Hostel management there could've been better organisation and preparedness. I hope to keep in contact with some of the people I've met during my experience. Shout out to Nineth for being so helpful with getting contacts for the rest of our travels.

Bartending with the hostel was mostly nothing but great. The accommodation is simple but it does the job. You're within a 10 minute walk of everything on the island. Breakfast in the morning is amazing. Staff dinner some days is great, others was just alright. Take advantage of the discounted tours and hostels at their sister properties. A lot of locals come to the Nightbar, some days it can be bit overwhelming since they are so intrigued with foreigners. They need to work on their communication a bit. Thank you to Nineth, Erika, Josue, Jorgie, Diego, Mindy and Bryan for making my time great!

La experiencia en el hostel fue muy grata, gracias a los colaboradores que trabajan ahí, sobre todo mindy, ella es un amor de persona, muy preocupado por todos. Los desayunos 10/10 y el ambiente en general muy a gusto. Gracias a todos los colaboradores del hostel

La experiencia en el hostel fue buena, muchos de sus trabajadores tienen una energía hermosa, y te reciben muy bien 😊 el trabajo en el bar es sencillo, a veces dinámico, si te gusta la fiesta y dormir tarde está bien, los desayunos son muy buenos, el almuerzo debe prepararlo cada cual, las cenas son comibles, Como observación: nos cortaron el voluntariado antes de la fecha acordada, según ellos por ser temporada baja, me pareció una falta de responsabilidad y empatía muy grande. Lo demás bien.

Personalmente muchas gracias por haber formado parte de nuestro equipo.
Lamentablemente tuvimos que cortar el voluntariado por motivo: 1. temporada baja.
2. Uno de los requisitos más importantes para nosotros del voluntariado es ser muy sociable y mantener la comunicación de nuestras actividades con nuestros huéspedes, nos encanta mantener el lugar en ambas temporadas alta y baja en misma energía positiva, alegre y dinámica para hacer sentir a nuestros huéspedes en una calidez de bienvenida.
Lo cual comunicamos en la entrevista antes de su llegada a los voluntarios que apliquen a nuestro equipo.
En el intercambio nos comprometemos ambos, nosotros en cumplir con el trato de hacer sentir al equipo de voluntarios en familia y apoyarle en lo necesario y asegurarnos que obtengan los beneficios acordados.
Si el voluntario no cumple con los requisitos acordados lamentablemente no continuamos con el trato, lo cual también se comunicó en la entrevista. Y necesitamos mantener el balance entre el equipo para que todos se sientan en la misma sintonía.
Nuestra recomendación es que no te comprometas en áreas donde no haya experiencia para evitar inconvenientes tanto a ti como a nosotros.

Mi experiencia en general fue buena y cómoda, es una buena oportunidad para conocer la isla y personas, destaco sobre todo la buena energía y experiencias con nineth y Mathias! También gracias a Ericka que fue muy amable conmigo. La cocina que si bien no cuentan con muchas opciones veganas, tuvieron increíble disposición y energía conmigo, ambos turnos. También destacar el trabajo de Janet, Josh y sergio, quienes siempre tuvieron la mejor disposición y energía conmigo. El turno de la tarde por completo se robó mi corazón con su cariño y buena onda. Gracias por todo !

My time at the hostel was fun. The work in the garden bar or on the boat party was a lot more enjoyable than the night bar. Make sure you ask for a good mix of shifts. Good hours with 2 days off per week was nice to experience flores. It gets very hot in the staff house, especially if your room doesnt have aircon so be prepared for this! All the volunteers get along well. The managers were super helpful and happy to listen to any issues.

The people at the hostel are the best. I felt like home the very first day I arrived and it was very hard to say goodbye to them. The job itself its very fun, but it can be a lot for some people. Also, the volunteers house could be a little cleaner but other than that, I had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend!!!!

The hostel was a great first volunteer experience. I definitely recommend other travelers to stop by. I was able to develop deep bonds with my other volunteers and make friends with the local staff members. Everyone was very welcoming and sweet. The work was reasonable and the staff was good at working with and guiding the volunteers. When we first arrived, there was a transition of leadership which left room for some miscommunications but overall a fantastic experience.
