Mi experiencia en el hostel fue increible. Conecté con muchos huespedes alrededor del mundo mientras disfrutaba de la tranquilidad y naturaleza de la isla. El equipo que formamos con la resta del staff fue el mejor y lo recordaré para siempre. Gaia, la gerente, respeta los turnos laborales acordados y se encarga de que todos los huéspedes estemos cómodos y a gusto. Recomiendo mucho la experiencia!

Fue realmente increíble mí estancia, aprendí, reí, disfruté, conocí, crecí y conecté con maravillosas personas en el proceso. Escuché y fui parte de historias que solo pueden suceder cuando decides tomar la decisión de vivir en una isla.

Very grateful to have been able to be part of the hostel family, a very nice and welcoming environment. I learned a lot, both socially and personally. Delphie and Gaia, 2 very willing and kind people, I highly recommend this experience!

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue muy buena, el hostel cuenta con buenas instalaciones, la recepcion es excelente y los espacios a compartir siempre están limpios y cuidados. el hostel respeto mi horario de voluntariado y todo su equipo fue muy amable en colaborar con mi inclusión, aprendizaje y el desarrollo de mis tareas. Realmente el hostel es una hermosa experiencia.

Amé hacer los desayunos. Es hermosa la conexión con los huéspedes, los halagos y propinas. Se requiere organización para las preparaciones, para el cuidado del presupuesto y para desperdiciar lo menos posible. Tomé ritmo muy rápido y nunca lo sentí como un trabajo, me encantó haber elegido este voluntariado. Las horas acordadas se respetan perfectamente. the hostel es hermoso, tanto el hostal como el equipo que me tocó. Hice amigos difíciles de despedir! :) Amé vivir en carpa. GRACIAS the hostel Family por haberme alojado este tiempo y por las experiencias vividas allí. Islita te extrañaré!!

El hostel fue una gran gran experiencia. Mi hospedaje y mi roomie fueron increibles, comparti momentos de mucha alegria con ella♡ El staff fue maravilloso, en un momento a pesar de que era la unica mexicana siempre me senti feliz. El trabajo, justo lo que se describe, buen horario, buenas comisiones, tours, fiestas, conoci muchisima gente, ha sido una experiencia super grata y alimento mi alma de una manera increible. Mi manager Nadja, la mejor!! He aprendido muchisimo de ella y siempre la recordare como la mejor. 100% recomendado. el hostel espero algun dia volvernos a encontrar.

Overall I had a good time on the island. I liked the hostel,it was a nice place to be. The location is awesome(2 blocks from the beach!) and the people are nice. Working hours were respected. However, they were pretty critical and had high expectations, and there wasn't a lot of support. I didn't really feel welcomed.It's a tough job, as there are limited food options on the island(and you are cooking for 25-35ppl), so it took some time to figure out a meal plan and recipes. I got the impression that money and budget were a higher priority than guest experience, or the volunteers experience.

Thank you for your feedback Sarah! We are glad that you had an overall good time with us. However I´d like to clarify, that before taking you in, we had a phone call where I´ve explained you in details what you would do and what you would be in charge for. I´ve also explained you that you have guidance during the volunteering however you need to work in autonomy. The capacity of the hostel and the average number of guests coming for breakfast was, also, explain to you. Because of your previous job experience in Starbucks, you told me you could deal with having people waiting for their order, however you were not able to manage 3 person waiting without feeling overwhelmed. I felt like a little bit of honestly from your side was lacking. We also saw together the first week´s recipes and meal prep and then it is always the same. I´ve always asked you if you needed anything and if you felt comfortable. As in every business, we have to follow a budget in order to be viable. To the contrary, we really care about our guest, that is why we offer them a free breakfast. We also create a family environment for every staff member and volunteers and do gathering all together, as you can see from the other reviews. We are truly sorry that this experience didn´t reach your criteria and would definitely take it into consideration for the future.

I've had a blast volunteering at the hostel for 4 weeks. The hostel's a very accommodating host, providing a comfy tent and nice shared facilities. Working hours and tasks were exactly as agreed and I appreciated the open communication. I very much enjoyed making breakfast every day in such a relaxed, laid-back environment and can recommend everyone to come and stay in this tropical paradise!

El hostel y todo su equipo tiene un trozito de mi corazón! El trabajo en sí se me hizo fácil pero sí que es verdad que hacer los desayunos es toda una responsabilidad (a tener en cuenta si aplicais). El equipo ha sido lo mejor de todo, es un hostel pequeñito por lo que siempre estás en contacto con los otros voluntarios y los trabajadores. Una vez a la semana haciamos reunión de equipo cosa que nos daba energía para continuar haciendo buen trabajo. En general recomiendo mucho esta voluntario, extraño mucho a mi familia de Holbox<3
