My stay at the guest house was short but really good! All of the volunteers and staff members were amazing and super nice, especially Ryoko-san was always caring and helping when needed. The hours and type of job is as described, can be a bit of work of there are lots of guests or fewer volunteers but it's completely doable. Even if you are on the second hostel they own (36 hostel). If you get a bike from the hostel there you'll take 15 min so not that far away. The location is really good, near the central station and the Mazda Stadium. And Hiroshima is a beautiful place with welcoming people. 🫶

I had a great time at the guest house. The accommodations are clean and well maintained. The work is quite simple and doesn't take up much time during the day, which allowed me to explore Hiroshima in my free time. A little bonus for Ryoko-san, who is very patient, a great teacher, and really funny. I highly recommend it!

This was my first international trip all on my own & my first worldpackers trip & it was amazing! Ryoko & Fumi are very welcoming & friendly & this place felt like home away from home. Ryoko will help you if you struggle with the work tasks & make you feel very welcome. You have a place to store food & cook & can use the provided e-bikes to explore Hiroshima. A work schedule is posted every sunday so you can plan things on your days off. Overall I would honestly love to come back here to work again & if you are worried about being a solo traveler you will be fine here! Lots of friends I made!

I had a great first volunteer experience! I received good instructions and could always ask if something was unclear. The atmosphere between the volunteers and Joko (the manager) was lovely! I met a lot of cool people, whom I hope to see again one day. Also, Hiroshima is such a nice town to stay in for a bit longer than just a few days. So, thank you for this great experience 🫶🫶! I can truly recommend it to everyone! :)

I had one of the best experiences volunteer working at the guest house, it felt like a second home to me! It's a great opportunity to connect with other volunteers and guests, and you make a lot of new friends. The cleaning tasks were very clear and I always finished in time, and if I needed any support Ryoko-San would always be there help😊 The location is also great, close to Hiroshima station so it was easy to explore the city! Big thank you to Ryoko-san, Fumi-san and all of the volunteers, this was such a fun experience and I would definitely recommend it!!

What an amazing time I had at the guest house ! It was my first time as a volunteer in a hostel and I couldn't have asked for a better experience ! Very nice hosts, pretty place and tones of unforgettable moments and friends. If you can speak japanese you might be working at the reception (what I did for 1 month), 3 days/week, 7h/d If you do not speak japanese -or don't feel confident enough, which is fine ;) - you will be part of the cleaning team, 5 days/week, 4h/d. Obviously schedule can change =) I loved everything about my stay, and I totally recommend it ! Ryoko san, thank you!

I spent one month at Aki Cafe Inn and it was an amazing experience — my first one through Worldpackers. My job was to welcome guests and clean the rooms. I worked three to four days a week, depending on the tasks, which gave me plenty of time to explore Hiroshima and its surroundings. The job wasn't too difficult, and it really helped me improve my Japanese! Everyone here was incredibly kind — the other volunteers, the guests, and the owner. A big shout-out to Ryoko-san! I truly felt at home during this month and I 1000% recommend it!
