This position is for volunteers for our housekeeping and cleaning team in our hostel!

We host people from all over Europe and although we are Dutch, the main language spoken in the hostel is English. So if you are looking to improve your English and work within an energetic, fun, and genuine team that feels more like a family, than this is the best place to be! :)

Dettagli del programma

We'll need your help with daily housekeeping of the rooms, bathrooms and common areas in the hostel.

We are looking for energetic team players, who works efficient but who also has an eye for detail and hopefully some experience with housekeeping in others hotels/hostels. Join our fun international team who will make every day a party!

You will work 25 hours a week, which means 5 shifts of each 5 hours. The shifts are from 10.30 - 16.00

We would like to have people who can stay for a minimum of 4 weeks. We give 15 euros a week to each work and stayer for groceries, however the team generally put all their money together to do a big food shop. Each day you can also have free breakfast and lunch. You will share a bedroom, kitchen and toilet/shower with volunteers only.

Attività e turni

The cleaning shift is every day from 10.30 - 16.00, you will work 5 shifts a week. The cleaning shift starts at the reception. From our reception staff you will hear which rooms have to be cleaned today. We have dorms but also private rooms where we make the beds and clean the bathrooms. Also common bathrooms as well as the common living are needs to be cleaned

We like to organize team outings every once in a while. Volunteers at Hostel Roots can join sport classes for free at a sportclub nearby! We also have BIKES and SUPS.

For us the most important thing is that the volunteers have fun, because when you have fun, guests will notice the good vibe in the hostel and automatically give them a better stay. A day will never be the same and we try to divide the shifts over the volunteers.
