Marisletta gård - Tromsø

We have available spots for volunteers from April and too the end of 2026. Preferably, you can stay for more than 6 weeks.

If you want to learn how it is to live and stay at a farm with all the work with the animals and on fields. You should come to us. At our farm we have sheeps, horses, dogs and cats.

If you like horses you can ride at your freetime and if you love cats you can have an quite time with them.
If you like to work outside and also inside you will find a perfect place at our farm.
The task and the days are quite diverse everyday.
Winterseason includes a lot of outdor activities, and experience with horses is an advantage.

Tromsø is the nearest city only 25 min with car. If you like to go tenting you can borrow stuff from us at your freetime. Or you can go biking around in the area..

Anders and June, born in 68 and 75, and still quite young ;) Age is just a number. We have 2 girls born in 2007 and 2008. We live outside Tromsø city, only 25 min with car. We like to work in a team with other people and get to know others ways of living, culture and personalitys. We have had foreign workers here since 2011 and have good experience with this. We have made new acquaintances and friendships in many countries and some of those who have been here have become part of our family. We have also had the pleasure of getting to know their parents and grandparents. We treat people with respect and as equals

Overall, I had a great experience here and I‘m glad that my first-ever volunteering trip has brought me here.
The tasks are simple, but you will definitely build up some muscle. However, the days have a pretty similar routine, so for some people it could get boring.
June and Anders are really nice and welcoming people, and we had a lot of fun and great conversations.
The accommodation above the sheep stable is small and cozy, however, the bathroom situation is not great. It is not in the same building, so you have to use the toilet and shower in the cat hotel.

Thank you June and Anders💞

I hope you guys love cats, horses and nature , that because you will be surrounded by them ( furry too).
Sometimes the work in the farm is really hard like making hay bales or painting the walls but the working times are flexible.
I really enjoyed some days using the canoa 🛶 and if you are really lucky kissed you can also see some 🦅 eagle and moose 🫎.
It would have been perfect if we’d had an hour for lunch if you usually have a warm lunch. Anyway, Anders and June are really friendly and talk with them is really comfortable. Of course I recommend this volunteer adventure!!

It has been an amazing experience where I could disconnect from daily life and reconnect with nature. The area is truly privileged, with beautiful landscapes and the chance to explore first-hand by bike, canoe and more. The tasks are physical, so you end the day tired, but the schedule is well balanced and leaves plenty of free time. The hosts are welcoming, flexible with schedules and, most importantly, share their culture and experiences, which is enriching. An unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone who loves nature and animals.

My experience at the farm with June & Anderes was incredible and far exceeded my expectations. The place, in terms of landscape, it is without a doubt one of the wildest and most breathtaking sceneries on the planet. If you love hiking and nature, this is definitely the volunteering opportunity for you. On the other hand, the hosts can seem a bit distant at first, to the point where they might come across as rude, especially June. But very quickly you realize that they are two people with huge hearts and a genuine interest in getting to know you.

Ive been here for 4 weeks. It was so lovely to be here, the views is terrific. The family and the riders are kind and welcoming. It wasnt work that I was used to, so it was a bit hard sometimes. But the time flies by really fast and the horserides are so nice. Its good to get to improve your English, it really helps because you speak it the whole time. I really recommend it if you like nature and especially animals:)
