Animal Rescue

Although the work is hard it is very rewarding. Working with animals is great for your mental health and their is a lot of love and laughter here.

We have a lot of people but a family atmosphere. There are lots of friends to be made here. We have family dinner once a week and the volunteers make friends for life.

A magical experience. This is my first Worldpackers and I don't regret going there. Animals, people! It was great.

An amazing experience for anyone who loves animals and nature. Marine and Marlene are wonderful hosts, always respectful and caring. The work requires focus, responsibility, and physical effort, since dealing with animals can be unpredictable. Living with people from different cultures can be challenging at first, but it brings great learning. We had plenty of food and a great location, close to Dublin and with easy access to Galway. I recommend it for those who want real connection and are willing to fully commit.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Animal rescue. Once you get used to the work it is really fulfilling and rewarding especially with all the amazing people. While the work is definitely hard sometimes it is a great experience and I’m glad I did it !

MLHR was my first volunteer experience and it was truly unforgettable. It’s a chaotic place in the best way, there’s always something to do. I met amazing people, and learned to live and work around animals.

The admin can be disorganized, and the house is old with water issues.
Though, the animals are truly friendly, and resilient. Many of them have medical conditions or come from difficult backgrounds, so being able to spend time with them feels very meaningful, you end up falling in love with all of them. 💕

If you don’t mind getting dirty and heavy work, I recommend this experience. 🤗

I spent two weeks at this farm for my first volunteering experience, and it was really great! There were a few small organization issues, but it didn’t stop me from fully enjoying it. You absolutely need to love farm life, animals, and physical work, but if you do, I highly recommend this experience! 💚🐴
