Every year, we celebrate projects that strive to create a sustainable world and a better future for us all!

How do I participate?

The Award

This annual award is part of the commitment that Worldpackers has maintained since its founding in 2014: to work collaboratively to create a resilient and integrated community where people's needs are met and the environment thrives.

Every year, the Worldpackers community comes together to vote for the 10 most deserving projects for their socio-environmental impact to receive our prize of US$20,000, divided such:

  • 1st place US$5,000
  • 2nd place US$4,000
  • 3rd place US$3,000
  • 4th place US$2,000
  • 5th to 10th places US$ 1,000

How can I participate?

Become a Worldpackers host with an ecological and/or social project on in our community

Create your profile and add the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that your project supports to it.

Achieve Worldpackers Top Host status

Confirm more than 10 trips, receive 6 or more reviews, and maintain an average rating of 4.8 or higher throughout the year. Track the quality of your exchanges here!*

Encourage your volunteers to leave reviews on our website

Reviews must endorse the SDGs you have highlighted in order to be considered for our award.

The 10 hosts with the most reviews will win our award!

We will select the 10 projects that received the most endorsed reviews by travelers in 2025 from around the world to win our award. The requirements are:

  • Be a Top Host with an ecological or social project
  • Maintain an average rating of at least 4.8 and be among the top 10 hosts with the most reviews endorsing at least one SDG in 2025.

In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the percentage of reviews endorsing one or more SDGs in confirmed trips in 2025.

The order of the awards will be determined by a vote of Worldpackers members in 2026.

*To be eligible, projects must receive Worldpackers Top Host status at least 30 days before the award date. Only trips confirmed in 2025 will be considered.


Worldpackers is not responsible for potential payment method restrictions in certain countries and reserves the right to monitor, discontinue, or suspend participation in the Annual Award for any hosts who do not comply with the previously agreed Terms of Use and the Quality and Safety Policy for Experiences.
