Hi! I'm Mahesh, and I run a cozy hostel just a 5 min walk from the surf beach in Weligama — good for beginner surfers. Our atmosphere is relaxed, social, and welcoming. Our goal is to create a space where travelers feel at home, meet new people, and enjoy good vibes every day. I'm looking for creative, social, and motivated travelers to join and help improve the hostel experience. Everyone brings something different, and I value new ideas.

My stay at „the hostel“ was definitely one of my favourite parts of my Asia-journey! It was my first experience with volunteering but I couldn't have wished for a better start! The community at the hostel is awesome and Mahesh is such a kind person who always makes sure that everyone feels welcome! You can communicate your preferences for working hours& already know the plan for the whole week, which I really appreciated! But switching with the other volunteers was always possible if something came up, so really flexible! I definitely found a piece of home there& can't wait to come back one day!

I had an amazing time at the hostel. Mahesh has created such a beautiful hostel with a very welcoming, social and positive atmosphere. It's incredibly easy to connect with people and make new friends. From the very first moment, I felt warmly welcomed. The working hours and shifts are relaxed and flexible and can easily be arranged with the other volunteers (we were three in total), which leaves plenty of time for your own plans, surfing and exploring the area. This place quickly felt like a little family to me and I would definitely come back anytime.

My time at the hostel was so special and I made such good friends with the guests! It's the perfect place if you love socializing and meeting new people. From the minute I got there the host mahesh included me in everything and made me feel welcome. He's always nice and tries his best to make this the best experience for you. And is very flexible with your travel plans etc. It's max 2 volunteers + Host so it's a very small “team” but it feels like a little family. I would recommend if you love to show initiative and meeting new people. I will come back 🫶

I had a truly amazing time at the hostel! I stayed for a month and felt comfortable and welcome from the very first day. It was the perfect place for my first volunteering experience. I especially want to thank Mahesh, who is incredibly warm and kind and immediately made me feel at home. The work was fair and enjoyable. There weren't really fixed shifts or clear working hours, but that didn't bother me at all because I could always ask Mahesh, and he was very relaxed and helpful. I would definitely recommend the hostel. It's a special hostel with a very social and family-like vibe🫶☀️

The hostel is hands down one of the best hostels I've stayed at! 🌴 Mahesh truly creates a home away from home, and the atmosphere is super social and welcoming. The volunteering work was easy and fun, and I even got to organize events—from day trips to parties—which made the experience even more special. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. I'll miss all of you and can't wait to be back soon! ☀️🧡
