Overall, I enjoyed my stay thanks to the other volunteers, the pool, and the good buffet. However, the hotel was quite dirty, and I was given a used bed. I had to do housekeeping on most days, with poor standards and no gloves, and only got to try other tasks in the last three days. The food was often an issue too, especially on days without a buffet, when the assigned meal was extremely spicy. Service also declined over time, with long waits even for water and simple requests like toilet paper not being fulfilled.

Dear Leonie!
Sorry to hear that you were not happy about our standards. Remember you were not a guest or an hotel inspector but a volunteer who came to correct or improve exactly the things you are complaining about.
I noticed that somethings did not go the way you expected. My advice is that you leave your attitudes back home when you travel and learn to respect other people and cultures so things may go well, or pay and stay in a hotel or hostel that meets your expectations.

We stayed 10 days at the hotel and it was a nice experience but not what we expected haha. The accommodation, the location near the beach and the food is incredible but the work was a little bit boring. Since we stayed during the off season in the hotel there where no guest so maybe that's why we had nothing to do. (Off season on the west coast is from May till October round about) Apart from that, we can say that all the staff and the chairman Athula are really really friendly and welcoming and we are really greatful for the experience. Thank you athula!
