I had a great time with Sterling and Dania! They were so helpful and welcoming, and all the animals were really sweet. Living on a volcano was such a unique experience with an incredible view, and the work was straightforward and matched what I was expecting. You do just have to accept being dusty all the time, it's unavoidable. The showers are cold but they were pretty enjoyable after walking the dogs up the volcano, and the view is amazing! It was cool to be part of a project where you can see the progress of the tasks you're doing, and I hope I can come back one day to see it when it's done

I had an incredible experience with Sterling and Dania. They are both so welcoming and friendly. Sterling massively appreciates any and all help that you can give. He is very respectful of your free time, and allows you complete freedom over your days off. The work is super fun, during my time there I did lots of help painting their new chicken coup as well as painting and sanding down things that he needed decorated in his home. The dogs, Echo, Drax and Papita are the best and you will love looking after them and playing with them. Would love to return one day and see what has progressed!

This experience was phenomenal! 2 very dusty weeks at the Sterling's property, that just went by in the blink of an eye. The property is very remote, on the side of a volcano, with a beautiful view and a very relaxing atmosphere. Going into Antigua city centre is not difficult at all though, since the chicken bus works pretty well and the host goes into town on a daily basis and is always happy to take you. The shack where we slept was very basic, but very comfortable. The work was simple and very varied, so it never got boring. It was perfect! The hosts are amazing and always helpful. 5*

We had the most amazing 2 weeks staying with Sterling and Dania! Sterling is a wonderful host, super flexible, social, helpful and passionate about his project. We loved the location, our “little shack on the hill”, it had insane views, amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and we felt immersed in nature every day waking up to the bird and bug sounds! The tasks were really fun and engaging, the dogs were our highlight. Don't be fooled by their size, they still have puppy brain! We will miss the friends we made there, the animals, Sterling and our shack! 10/10 go if you can!

I stayed almost 2 weeks in Sterling's project. The place is awesome (I'm missing the view) but be ready to be dirty (a lot of dust). The jobs are quite chill and really diversified. We painted, took care of 3 lovely dogs, digged holes, … The local workers are adorable (big up to Nicky, José and Guioni !) The place were we slept was a bit rudimentary, cause it's pretty cold there. But don't worry, there's a few big blankets and if you put a sweatshirt on it should be ok :) Thanks again to Sterling, we loved our first volunteering experience !

Tom and his friend Ze'lie were really fantastic as first time volunteers. It boils down to a great attitude and they had it. They were always ready to participate and help out even if it was not their designated task for the day.
Our spot is rough and remote but they absolutely loved the views and isolation that this place gives us.
We would welcome them back any day and you should too if considering them as volunteers.
Thanks guys.

Sterling and Dani were the most gracious hosts. They were flexible with our schedule, which allowed me time to experience so much more of guatemala. Being on the property was a beautiful experience. It helped me with my spanish speaking skills being surrounded by locals. The property itself left me fully immersed in nature.

Tasks were easy and chill and accommodations were okay. It was a little hard to get into town. The dogs were amazing.

We did mainly animal care with my partner doing a bit more manual labour. The work was easy but slight more communication would've been appreciated. It is extremely dusty with no respite even when you go to bed so be prepared for that. The views are lovely and taking the dogs for sunset walks was one of our highlights. Overall we would recommend the experience, we enjoyed it as a couple as you have a lot of free time to chill but I could imagine getting bored if I was alone with no wifi and nothing around so make sure you take some good books or download stuff prior.

The host were welcoming and always there to help the volunteers, which was really sweet. However the work was a bit different than expected as i signed up for pet sitting and ended up doing a lot of painting, sandpaper, oiling, stuff like that, which i wasnt superrr annoyed about it was fine with me except i wish i wouldve known beforehand and i couldve brought conveniant clothes. The place is nice with beautiful views but very far from Antigua, you have to be ready to walk a lot to get to the city. The whole experience is pretty much like camping, there's no hot water, elec. in daytime only,
