We're the new team behind the Green Elephant Backpackers in Observatory, Cape Town — a much-loved lodge that we’re bringing back to life with a focus on care, creativity, and community. To help us in this journey, we’re looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to support with housekeeping and the general upkeep of the lodge. This role is an important part of creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for guests.

25 heures d'aide par semaine

Nettoyage: Aider à nettoyer la cuisine, les chambres, les salles de bain et les espaces communs.

Entretien ménager: Aider à changer les draps et à l'entretien ménager général.

2 jours de congé par semaine

Dortoir partagé: Vous aurez un lit dans une chambre partagée, ce qui signifie que vous partagerez la même chambre avec d'autres voyageurs.

Laverie Gratuite: Vous pouvez utiliser notre buanderie librement.

Utilisez notre cuisine équipée: N'hésitez pas à utiliser notre cuisine et préparer vos propres délicieux repas.

Accès Internet Rapide: Internet haut débit pour travailler à distance

Exigences

Intermédiaire Anglais

Entre 20 et 40 ans

Accueille uniquement les volontaires solo (n'accepte pas les couples ou partenaires)

Être originaire d'un pays autre que Afrique du Sud

Passeport de l'Union européenne

Visa ou citoyenneté des États-Unis

Who we’re looking for:

🧽 Someone who enjoys keeping things clean, tidy and well-presented

🛏️ Has an eye for detail and takes pride in their work

😊 Friendly, helpful and respectful of guests and fellow staff

💪 Physically fit and comfortable with light physical tasks (e.g., making beds, sweeping, etc.)

Activités et horaires

Making beds and refreshing rooms for new guests

Light cleaning in dorms, bathrooms, and shared spaces

Helping with laundry (washing, folding, ironing)

Keeping the kitchen and garden areas neat and welcoming

Supporting the team where needed to keep the space running smoothly

Règles

Respect the shared spaces, staff, and guests at all times.

Keep your room and workspace tidy.

No excessive alcohol and a zero drug policy on the premises.

Be responsible with equipment (camera, phone, etc.) and always ask permission before filming/photographing guests.

Please communicate in advance if you need a day off or wish to adjust your shift.
