This was my first Worldpackers volunteer experience. It was amazing! Petter and Anne are great hosts who have a beautiful little resort. Everyday was different and worked with the hosts, a couple of fabulous volunteers and their welcoming and helpful local staff. I learned a few new skills in my work and get a glimpse into the lives of the people of Vanuatu. My time there generated many the hotel for me. Thank you Thank you!!!

Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, which led me to leave before the agreed period. The room didn't meet basic comfort standards: thin roof, gaps in the door, geckos and cockroaches inside day and night were considered normal. The room was often impossible to stay in due to heat, insects, and lack of Wi-Fi. The work exchange lacked structure: although 5 hours/day were mentioned, tasks and expectations were unclear, and I often felt both underutilized and required to remain available. Meals were limited: lunch was only rice, pasta and eggs, and overall access was restricted.
