L'Expérience

We are a friendly, easy going italian retired couple that lived in France till 2019. We love animals and nature, we like to eat organic food and local products, and living in a elegant place.Our Palazzo had been abandoned for 12 years before we bought it and we have achieved In Summer we open a small luxury b&b in the center of Manduria city, we have only 6 rooms, a big garden and swimming pool and is located in an old palace of the XIX Century.

The guest house and Filippo always made sure I felt at home at the Palazzo. The atmosphere is warm and family-like. The work is varied and not exhausting. You can take on extra hours for additional pay. Each week, you receive money for meals and can eat whatever and whenever you like. A fully equipped kitchen is available. The Palazzo is located in the city center, so shops and other places are easily accessible on foot. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to discover Italian culture and values peace and tranquility.

This experience was a great way to be immersed in the Southern Italian culture and especially the way of life of a small town. I really enjoyed exploring the town and during the summer there were constantly activities in the area like jazz concerts and cultural festivals. the guest house would always inform us when there was something going on and would often invite us to join her and Paolo for dinner in town. The staff is very kind and welcoming. Filippo, the hotel manager, was helpful in training and good at communicating responsibilities although the hours often exceed 4 per day.

My partner & I stayed here for 3 weeks & had a great time. It was an absolutely stunning venue; our living area in the basement was very basic but had a comfortable bed and clean facilities. Elizabetta, Filippo & the staff were kind, welcoming and were great to work with. We split ourselves between helping with breakfast and doing work in the garden & pool bar when needed. Flexibility was required around guest needs re pool bar however additional work was renumerated & flexibility worked both ways (E.g. Early finish) which we appreciated. Overall we would definitely recommend this opportunity.

Volunteering at the Palazzo was amazing! the guest house and Filippo were extremely kind and welcoming, always making us feel comfortable and at home :) The work was easy and we never had to do too much, therefore we had a lot of free time to enjoy the beautiful region. On our days off they made sure we could have a full day at the beach which was incredible! The palazzo and the team made the experience unforgettable and I'm very grateful for the time I got to spend there <3

My experience at Palazzo the guest house was amazing! The work was as agreed and wasn't hard at all and we were always given a generous amount of money to buy ourselves food. The Palazzo itself is great, the garden is huge and so beautiful and we even got to use the pool when the guests weren't around! The location in Manduria is great, it's a rather small place but you're right in the center so you can easily explore. the guest house, Paolo & Filippo, as well as the rest of the staff were super kind and would always take us to places like the beach if we had time or recommend us things to do :)
