I have spent 3 week at the farm. It has been lovely and very relaxed while at the same time interesting with lots of opportunities such as exploring the island (duh) however with all the free time I had I found this a very easy thing to do. 🌀 The hosts are also extremely caring and really make you feel welcomed. Cooking amazing dishes. I had my own space and my own life, local gym, favourite restaurant etc. However they always invited me to join them when they went to music events, for a run or even lunch. 🌀 The house is lovely. It's clean. Tidy. Anything you could ask for is provided.

Staying with Lourine and Syed was an fun and new experience! They both happily share their stories both personal and with the kombutchabrewing. You are given a lot of independence in your work, although it can at times be a bit repetitive. Furthermore you even get to taste the finished product which we must say, was very impressive. All in all we enjoyed our week on Langkawi and would happily both recommend others to go and go again ourselves:)

This was truly a unique experience thanks to Laurine and Syed! I knew little to nothing about kombucha, but they were so open and patient about teaching us volunteers about everything. The tasks were clearly told to us and as agreed, we had the afternoons and weekends to ourselves. Syed and Laurine even invited us sometimes to join them on some activities like pilates and jamming sessions. I was also able to explore the island in my free time and Laurine made a whole list of things we could visit, which was super useful. Overall I felt welcomed and learned a lot. Definitely recommend!

I had an amazing week in Langkawi thanks to laurine and Sid. It was a perfect mixture of working in the mornings and free time in the afternoons to explore the island- the hosts give plenty of recommendations for places and restaurants to visit. They both share alot of knowledge about kombucha and I would recommend this to everyone especially for those who already have an interest and want to learn more.

Volunteering here could be great but issues with both the facilities and the attitude of the hosts meant that we ended up leaving early. They have basically no water which wasn't made clear to us before we arrived. Laurine gives little guidance on tasks, but is critical if you don't do it in the way she expects. She didn't provide us with any food for lunch initially and made us feel uncomfortable when we asked for basic ingredients. Overall, it didn't feel like a mutually beneficial volunteering experience, instead an overstretched small business looking for cheap labour.

Volunteering at Laurine and Syed's Kombucha the host was interesting, but I often felt more like an employee than a volunteer. I spent a lot of time on housekeeping tasks, which felt unnecessary. Communication was poor, with unclear instructions, and Laurine often criticized rather than guiding us. The hosts were rarely around, making support difficult. Lunch were lacking. But this improved after we about it. Laurine's tone often felt critical and commanding. In the end, it felt more like they were looking for free labor than a genuine exchange of help.
