I enjoyed so much my volunteer here! Is such a lovely family! I'm so glad to have met you! Thank you for your kindness and making me part of the family! Is a very beautiful community, I had the opportunity to be more with the locals, all the locals are so lovely they even want to take photos with you all the time haha! Also Sahirin was such an amazing tour guide! He showed me lots of beautiful places where locals go! The class was amazing and the students were lovely trying to learn more English! Throughout my stay, I volunteered as an English teacher, working closely with local children while also learning the local language. Teaching became more than a task, it was a meaningful exchange where I learned just as much as I shared. Through this program, I gained a deeper understanding of education at the grassroots level. Sahirin and his family welcomed me wholeheartedly, allowing me to take part in their daily routines from morning until night. They prepared authentic home-cooked meals and opened their home with genuine warmth. Two weeks felt far too short!

This is an amazing experience and a must do if you are looking for an authentic local experience. You are instantly welcomed in by the whole family, who treated me so well. I really felt like I was making a difference through the English teaching, all the kids are so grateful and enthusiastic about the lessons and they make it so worth it. I got to try a large variety of local foods, met lots of local people and got to visit lots of local attractions too. Thank you Sahirin and your family for the amazing time, I truly enjoyed it all.

Super expĂ©rience chez Sahirin, nous avons Ă©tĂ© trĂšs bien reçus et traitĂ©s comme des membres de la familles de la part de tout le monde. Nous sommes tombĂ©s en mĂȘme temps que 2 autres volontaires avec qui nous avons fait connaissance et crĂ©er des lien sur le temps que nous avons passĂ© lĂ -bas. Les enfants Ă©tait adorables, et nous avons eu l'occasion de faire partie du village comme tout autre habitant. On a mĂȘme participĂ© Ă  un mariage local, trĂšs traditionnel. Encore merci pour tout Ă  Sahirin et Ă  sa famille, et Ă  trĂšs bientĂŽt.

If you want to truly experience local life in a village, this is the perfect place for you. We were warmly welcomed by the whole family and loved spending a week with them. They shared their daily life with us, showed us around the area, and were always flexible and attentive to what we wanted to do. The children are adorable and genuinely eager to learn English. The bed and bathroom are simple, but that's part of the charm and more than enough. A big thank you to Sahirin and his family for this truly enriching experience!

This was my first volunteering experience, and what a special experience it was! From the beginning you are welcomed and treated as part of the family, you are their Sister/ Brotherâ˜ș My sisters took such good care of me, amazing home cooked food and trips to the garden. Sahirin took me to visit local attractions/ waterfalls which was beautiful and taught me Indonesian in the evenings! The teaching was amazing, it is so special to be part of such an important programme. The kids were full of energy, confidence and really wanted to learn. I found it really inspiring.

This experience was awesome. I've been inmersed in a local Lombok family. My time here was super good, all of them always so kind and grateful having me here. If you want to connect with nature, local culture, local vibes, local food and helping teaching a language this is your place. Yo will also have a lot of free time. I had a great experience in Bilong Petung with Mr. Sahirin and his family. Initially it was a bit of a culture shock but him and his sisters really looked after me and I really got to live in with local people 😁 Teaching English to the kids and also Sahirin's sister was very fulfilling and I was also taken to see a local waterfall. Would definitely recommend this experience if you truly want to live within a local community and experience the culture of Lombok 😊

One of the best things I've done in seven months travelling; being able to live in a quiet village, with such a nice family and community. Sahirin even taught us some Indonesian language which has really made my travels here better, and despite never properly teaching before I had so much fun working with the kids. Pika and Nurmisah were so welcoming and treated us like family, as well as everyone else in the village who are unbelievably friendly whether they spoke English or not :))

I had so much fun and grew as a person through this volunteering experience. They made me feel like I was one more of the family, always giving me delicious food, making sure I was feeling good, taking me to explore around, having good and funny conversations, and learning a lot about them and their culture.
