Détails du programme

We started at the end of 2022 on a conventional dairy farm in Laren (Gelderland) with the aim of transforming it into a nature-inclusive and ecological farm. We have already taken big steps: the cows spend more time outdoors, receive locally sourced feed, and are strip grazing in herb-rich pastures. Additionally, we produce our own cheese and dairy.

We expect Worldpackers to contribute about 30-35 hours per week. Usually the weekends are pretty relaxed, and you are welcome to borrow one of our bikes and discover the surroundings.

We have several bedrooms in the farmhouse. You will share the bathroom with 2 other Wwoofers/worldpackers and interns. In the kitchen, you'll join the other farm residents for meals, and occasionally, you'll also cook meals for the group.

Activités et horaires

You help out making cheese and dairy. You will also help out taking care of the cheeses - turning, cleaning and coating the big cheeses. It's a good workout!

You will participate in the farm household, which also means you join dinner and regularly take a cooking shift as well (for 3 - 8 people, depending on the day). Cooking together with others is also an option of course 😄

If you're keen, you can also join milking the dairy cows occasionally, or helping out in the vegetable garden. But the main focus is on cheese and dairy production.

Règles

We're looking for people that can preferably stay for at least two months, as it takes some time to learn the skills needed to make dairy and cheese. Previous volunteers have all said they appreciated the long stay.
