An amazing experience. I had 2 types of shifts, one in the morning at the hostel which is simple and takes no more than 2 hours between bedding and cleaning leaving the rest of the day free and the second as a babysitter which is longer, taking care of the boys requires patience and I recommend experience, they are very intelligent and full of energy and know their routines well but, sometimes they don't want to follow them specially at bed time . Ioanna is an excellent hostess, the communication with her is essential, she is very open to sharing with volunteers and help us 🫶🏻

Ionna is very open and a great person. I stayed at the hostel, the tasks are simple and direct. I stay at the house with the kids, who are great and full of tenderness, as Ionna and Saki are always available for communication. I truly recommend ;)

Tómalo solo si ya tienes experiencia cuidando niños, los chicos son geniales y tienen mucha energía( hablan muy bien inglés). Ioana es una excelente Anfitriona, respeta mucho tus tiempos y puede adaptar sus horarios a los tuyos, entiende que es una relación colaborativa no laboral. Si tienes la suerte de cuidar a los niños en casa de su papá prepárate para muy buena comida y buenas anécdotas, solo recomiendo si dejar los horarios claros porque aveces si llega algo tarde. En lo general es un excelente voluntariado

The boys are sweet, funny, and full of energy, it was fun during play time, however, they were easily angered during their bed time routine often ignoring me completely. I have experience with childcare but perhaps not enough for this position. I spent more time in the hostel which is a 2 hour task cleaning and changing sheets of up to 8 beds, but the shared space means you will be a part of the bedtime routine either way. Overall, Ioanna is a great host and gave many recommendations for things to do, cooked delicious meals, respected the schedule, and her communication was top tier.

Ioanna is a very kind and open host. The housekeeping work is very easy and chill. I made good friends and had a lot of time to visit Brussels. The only thing I'd you don't like kids, this is not for you. They can definitely be a handful sometimes, but if you like kids they can also be great and I got very attach to them by the end. Also you are sleeping in the same room as the kids and the other volunteer so you must be able to communicate your needs well. If you're fine with that then I would recommend this experience for sure!

I had a really wonderful experience volunteering. Ioanna is very welcoming and the boys are adorable. It was also a great opportunity to practice English and definitely to become more mentally flexible, as it's a home where you feel a little piece of the world in everything 💖 thank you for everything!

I had a great time during my stay here. The work was fair, mostly in charge of cleaning around the hostel and changing the bedding. In exchange for the few hours of work Volunteers are given a breakfast meal (sometimes even dinner) and a bed in a shared dorm. The location is great to explore Brussels and close to the train station to explore the rest of Belgium. The communication with the host was good and an overall positive experience.

It was a wonderful experience!! Ioanna is an excellent host, always attentive and making sure you're comfortable. She cooks delicious food, and as a vegetarian, I had everything I needed. She's kind, flexible, and really fun! The kids are adorable and smart; I really enjoyed taking care of them. They already have a routine, so it's easy to manage and keep them well. The hostel tasks are clear, simple, and only take a few hours a day, leaving plenty of free time to explore, meet people, and travel. I also made really good friendship with the other volunteers there. 100% recommended!

My tasks were primarily babysitting, it was really relaxed and I had time to work on my projects. Sakis behaved like an old good friend to me. He made sure I had everything I needed to have a good stay, he cooked very palatable dishes adding his own signature (he knows a huge lot about cocktails and flavors). The kids are adorable, we went to the park, played together some times but most of the time they are really independent and play by themselves. The time I could share with Ioanna let me know she's awesome. I feel now I have new friends in Brussels! Thanks a lot for your kindness guys!

Mi experiencia en Bruselas fue hermosa! la pase muy bien, me divertí un montón, conecte muy bien con los otros voluntarios... Las tareas son muy fáciles de hacer y los horarios de trabajo son cortos, así que tuve mucho tiempo libre para conocer la ciudad e incluso ir a otras ciudades cercanas. Los niños son adorables y Ioana una gran anfitriona desde el principio fue muy clara con las tareas que debía realizar y se cumplió perfectamente, siempre estuvo atenta a todo lo que pudiera necesitar y a hacerme sentir cómoda. Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento! Muchas gracias por todo :)
