This experience was fantastic. Not only were Katie and Johnny really compassionate and welcoming but the work was fun and did not take up too much of your time. I felt really welcome and that I was able to establish a good balance between work and experiencing York and the surrounding towns. It was also nice to work alongside people from all over the world, we became a nice little family.

Johnny and Katie are incredible hosts, once I had settled in I felt right at home! The work was very reasonable and exactly as agreed. Johnny was patient and helpful when explaining the tasks, he would accomodate if I was incapable of doing something. The volunteer facilities are cosy, by my standards it had everything I needed! It was great having multiple volunteers, we all got along very well and explored York together in our time off. I would have loved to stay longer and would certainly do it again, I highly recommend this experience!

It has been very nice to share these months here, both at work and in time with Johnny, Kate and little Emily. The activities are very simple for both housekeeping and construction, they trust you a lot at all times. They are a young couple and are very patient and open to any subject and I have been able to communicate with them perfectly despite the fact that my English is not very good. As far as the city is concerned, you will have a lot of free time to know how beautiful York is, you will love it. An extra fact is that Johnny habla un poco de español and that has been great for me!!

El trabajo es fácil aunque debes estar dispuesta a hacer de todo. Se trabaja muy relajada y tomándote tus tiempos. Cuando toca trabajar en construcción es más cansador pero no se trabaja fuera del horario laboral. Hay cosas que podrían mejorar, pero ellos son muy buenos con los voluntarios.

Johnny and Katie were wonderful hosts! I had a great experience during my stay. York is a lovely little city to explore with beautiful national parks nearby as well. It was great to get to know Johnny and Katie and the other volunteers. The work was very reasonable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting England.

It was my first experience with Worldpackers and I'm truly grateful for this opportunity. The guesthouse is conveniently located near the center of York and right next to a lovely river. Johnny and Katie(+Emily), the hosts, were amazing - they were so warm, funny, and easy to get along with. I appreciate that they respected everyone's workhours and were flexible with them, which gave us plenty of time to explore York, its wonderful old architecture, and its picturesque gardens. I was also very fortunate to work with great volunteers who made it even better and gave insight into their cultures

Johnny and Katie are amazing hosts! They're very respectful of your time and make sure you have everything you need. You will do various tasks such as handy work and cleaning. The home is in a great location out of the hustle and bustle of the city center but only a short scenic walk up the river away. The town of York is cute and they have great walking tours available. Thank you for a great experience Katie and John!

It was a really nice experience and the group of volunteers was really working together. Johnny and Katie thank you for everything. I really had the opportunity to enjoy York while I was here, I recommend this experience you have everything you need to feel comfortable and motivated to help them around the houses
