Katrin and Johnny are incredible people. From the moment I arrived they were kind, welcoming and showed me around the rooms and where I would be staying. The room is great, very comfortable and cosy with food included. The workload is very manageable and I had more then enough time to explore the city which is stunning. The city centre is a short 15 minute walk along the river. I loved everyday here, Katrin, Johnny and their beautiful daughter Emily became like family. Emily is the sweetest little girl and all of them will hold a special place in my heart forever.

This expierence it was awesome, i meet nice people at the guests house and in the city as well, York is an astounding city with a lot of places to visit, historical place and also with a viking culture. The days are beautiful but the night are the best with vibrating fun people leaving the pubs. If you like Harry Potter that's your place. Johnny and katrin are a greatest couple, open to talk to you and let you know all you need with the task, city places to visit and also make you feel comfortable in their place. I'm so happy to have been here and improve my skills and meet nice people (J&K)

I have no words to thank for the time I spent in York. Kristen and Johnny were extremely kind and friendly. The work is not difficult, but you need to be committed and attentive to details. But at no point there is any pressure from them. They make us feel at ease and always have time for other activities after the shift. The city of York is very beautiful, you can enjoy it everyday. The room was pleasant for me, as it was the space to have our meals. I recommend it and would definitely come back! Thank you two for this experience. It was a pleasure to meet you!

I had a nice time at Katy and Johny's house. The tasks were communicated every day and they were easy and as we had agreed. You have plenty of time to explore the city, which is really beautiful. I got the chance to spend some time with the family and babysit Emily, their eldest daughter. She is a lovely girl! This is a great experience if you're looking to get to know a beautiful historic city and have some relaxing time as well.

They are a lovely family! The work is easy and you can do with calm, no pressure, a real voluntary job, of course with responsabilitys. I learned about sustainable construction with Jhonny, which was realy cool. The place is at a well location, 20 minuts to center on foot! Next to the river, on a path only for pedestrian and cyclists, charming. The negatives points in my opinion, are the lack of privacy, since we sleep in our workplace, to be short, no knocking on the door before entering and they only bought chicken with the bone, so there was no way we could make different recipes. Thanks

My stay with Johnny and Katrin was a very enjoyable experience. They went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and always checked that I was okay with the work. The work was simple and well communicated as well and left plenty of time to explore York and surrounding areas. It is also a great location to see different cities on your days off. I would definitely recommend if you want to settle for a bit and explore a gorgeous city.

Johnny and Katrin (and Emily!) are wonderful hosts, and will warmly welcome you to the team. The shared room is small but cosy, and the other volunteers (at least while I was here) were lovely too. The work was very easy and as long as you do it well you'll have absolutely no issues. I often spent the afternoons walking into town to explore. I can definitely recommend the experience :)
