Those five weeks that I spent in GijĂłn the hostel was the most fun and exciting period of my life. No words are enough to describe the heartwarming feeling of having created so many lifelong friends during this experience. The hostel is such a cozy and welcoming place and Asturias is one of the most breathtakingly gorgeous places I've ever visited. Work times and duties are respected and even when sometimes things don't go exactly as planned, you can just voice your opinion during the team meetings and you will be heard and respected. Would definitely recommend!!

Giannis was an absolute joy to have at the hostel! Always kind, positive, and great to work with. He brought such good energy to the team and made the most of his time here. We’re grateful for everything and would happily welcome him back anytime!

Volunteering at the hostel has been an amazing experience. This was my first volunteer experience and it couldn't have been any better. If you want a mix of fun and relaxation this is the place. Merika is very organised and communicates great with the volunteers. I was lucky enough to have an amazing group of volunteers which made this experience so special. I would say having a basic level of Spanish is recommended and would make your job easier however it's not required! Overall I 1000% recommend this experience ❀ I miss my Spanish family already đŸ‡ȘđŸ‡žâ€ïž

Volunteering at GijĂłn the hostel was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better start. From the beginning, everything was clear and well-organized. The shifts and tasks were exactly as agreed, manageable, and with enough free time to enjoy the area and connect with people. It was a great way to meet travelers from all over the world and to bond with the other volunteers. My experience at the hostel has been amazing. This is the right place where you can prove yourself and learn so many things. I met a lot of wonderful and kind people from all over the world and we had a great time together. Sometimes the shifts were busy and hard, but all in all you can afford them. The manager was kind and she was super available to help or listen to you if there were some problems. I Will never forget this experience ☀

I just came back from a 10-day experience at GijĂłn the hostel. I'm really grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, even if only for a few days, because during my time there I was able to combine surfing with creating great memories alongside the other volunteers. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy while staying there, thanks to all the activities organized by the hostel. The work isn't hard, also because it feels like being in a big villa, you get to da variety of tasks instead of repeating the same one for five hours. I highly recommend this place.

Had a lovely month here! Very cozy and homey hostel, the tasks are easy, working hours are respected, having quite a few volunteers creates a friendly and family-like atmosphere. Loved the fact that I could take a surfboard and go surfing whenever I wanted. I'd love to come back!

The month I spent at GSH was one of the best experiences I've had. From the very first day, I truly felt at home. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the people — from the manager to the other volunteers — brought such great energy. The hostel offers plenty of activities, whether you're relaxing in a hammock, playing billiards in the reception area, or watching a movie with others. But the highlight for me was surfing. Thanks to the hostel, I discovered a new passion. The lessons were both fun and helpful, and the overall vibe made the experience unforgettable.

Volunteering at GijĂłn the hostel was an incredible experience! My highlights were surfing, learning Spanish, hanging out with the other volunteers, and enjoying the amazing nature of Asturias. The work was simple and work hours were well respected. The work schedule is on a rotating basis while considering and expressed preferences. Plenty of free time to take advantage of the surf boards, bikes, and other amenities! Everything you could need is very accessible via the bikes provided. I would absolutely recommend this experience if you are interested in surfing and learning Spanish!
