Product Developer / Textile Designer / Designer
L'expérience
The traveler will collaborate with the development of new textile products. We will discuss and agree on specific objectives and a timeline in advance. These objectives will be flexible and could change as the project advances.
The idea is to have a clear collaboration and help everybody plan their time and expectations better. Food is not initially offered in this position. However, it could change after agreeing on its terms.

Détails du programme
The product developer position involves planning, developing and presenting products for our current market or a new sustainable line. Working closely with the design and technical team, the Product Developer is involved in developing products or product lines from the design concept through to prototypes. Often this will involve trips to Otavalo, our providers or other sources of information to learn about new fashion trends, ideas, and concepts.
After understanding the market and our resources/capabilities. The job role of the Product Developer includes following complete development of a product from initial drawings to final sample, researching materials, follow the progress and check production, sourcing trims and fabrics and finding sustainable raw materials.
Product Developer entails developing the product at a quality, and level, which pleases both producer and management.
Activités et horaires
The approx number of hours for the collaboration is 30 hours/wk (based on past collaborations).
In the first days, the collaborator will focus on grasping a high-level understanding of the company and capabilities, Ecuadorian textile market, and our design department strategy. The final timeline with the deliverables for the collaboration should be agreed upon in the beginning.
Once the timeline is placed it would provide the general guidelines for the rest of the project.
Finally, the collaborator should present a brief presentation of the project in a format that she/he feels more comfortable. There are no strict guidelines regarding the extension of the presentation or its topics. Some recommendable topics could be:
-Resume of the collaboration
-Considerations for other worldpackers and for the continuity of their project by L&R employees.
