Description:
Social impact travelers cover their own personal expenses (transport pickup, scooter rental, meals, etc) during the program. A voluntary contribution of USD 10 per day is welcomed and will be fully used to support local community initiatives.

Join Wanderframe as a visual storyteller in Kuta, Lombok, documenting the pressing issue of deforestation. This program invites volunteers passionate about documentary filmmaking, aerial photography, and photography to capture the story of forests under pressure, land-use changes, and the communities working to protect them.
You will film and photograph not only the landscapes, but also local conservation initiatives and the daily actions of community members responding to environmental challenges. Your visuals will amplify local voices, raise awareness about deforestation, support reforestation programs, and create long-term ethical storytelling that highlights both nature and the people striving to preserve it.
Through your lens, you help share the realities of Lombok’s forests with the world, turning your stay and your work into a partnership in environmental impact.
Activités et horaires
Core Activities
Capture drone and ground footage of forests, deforested areas, and land-use changes
Document local conservation efforts, reforestation projects, and community-led initiatives
Conduct interviews and record stories of community members (with informed consent)
Curate photos and videos for Wanderframe’s digital storytelling and awareness campaigns
Participate in briefings, workshops, and feedback sessions to refine ethical storytelling skills
Daily Schedule
Morning (07:00 – 11:00)
Film and photograph forests, landscapes, and affected areas during optimal light
Explore nearby conservation and reforestation sites
Midday (11:00 – 14:00)
Rest, backup footage, light editing, and community engagement
Optional workshops or discussions on documentary storytelling and environmental awareness
Afternoon (14:00 – 18:00)
Capture drone and ground footage of forest trails and community restoration activities
Focus on environmental details, candid community moments, and storytelling content
Notes
Schedule may adjust due to weather or community activities
Work independently or in small teams
No night photography required
Safety, informed consent, and environmental respect are mandatory

Respect the Community
Always ask for consent before photographing people or private spaces. Locals are partners, not subjects.
Follow Ethical Photography Guidelines
No staged scenes, misrepresentation, or exploitation of people, culture, or environment.
Use Your Own Equipment Responsibly
Bring and manage your camera gear safely, especially in marine and shared spaces.
Protect Marine Life & Nature
Do not touch or damage coral, disturb wildlife, or leave litter on land or in water.
Safety Comes First
Follow instructions from local guides and marine coordinators, particularly during snorkeling, diving, and boat activities.
Respect Cultural Norms
Dress appropriately and follow local customs at all times.
Image Usage Agreement
Selected photos will be shared with the community and Wanderframe for non-commercial use. Photographers retain credit.
Professional Conduct
Be punctual, communicate clearly, and treat fellow volunteers, staff, and locals with respect.
No Alcohol or Substance Use During Activities
Volunteers must remain fully aware and responsible during all fieldwork.
Follow Local Coordination
Final decisions in the field are made by local facilitators and Wanderframe coordinators.
