Tivedstorp STF Hostel and Café/Restaurant

Do you enjoy meeting new people, experiencing beautiful nature and working together with varied tasks as a team? Come and help us out this season! This is an old, small village located in the middle of the deep forests of Tiveden, which is now converted to a hostel and a restaurant with many small buildings and cottages.

The hostel is open from April-October, and a lot of different things are happening in this time. Mainly our guests come to enjoy the unique peaceful atmosphere and hike in the National park located nearby, and sometimes we rent out the entire village for weddings, conferences etc.

The hostel is run by us, Anders and Anna, with our two-year old child Tore. Anders is a musician and Anna is an artist and we arrange as many cultural happenings as we can and work to make Tivedstorp a hub for music and arts. We have a lot of live music in our café during the summer, and many artists have played here over the years.

We are looking for volunteers who wants to join our team and experience real wilderness in Sweden.

We run the hostel as a family business, with some hired staff. The main volunteer tasks consists of dishwashing and cleaning. Some maintenance work such as painting might also be part of your tasks and sometimes also gardening. We provide shared accommodation for our volunteers, and all meals are included. We serve vegetarian food and sometimes fish. Sometimes you will have to cook on your own, but we provide ingredients. There is a shared kitchen for staff and volunteers to use. We spend a lot of time working together, in your spare time it will be up to you how you spend your time, since we need time with our family and friends when off work. There is a lot of things to do in your spare time, if you enjoy outdoor activities. We are located far from any city, so be prepared to spend most of your time in the middle of the forest. The majestic national park of Tiveden is only a few kilometers away, with crystal clear lakes and breathtaking hikes. We are looking for volunteers who are team players yet independent and self-going, flexible and willing to do any kind of task. We are mainly looking for volunteers who are able to stay for at least 3 weeks. Driving license and coming by your own car is highly appreciated , but not a demand. If you come by train, we help you book a transfer from the nearest train station Laxå. We look forward to hear from you!
