Secondly, we run two social hostels in the heart of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Both provide unique and memorable experiences, and although they are technically different hostels, we are a team and they offer similar adventures. While Urban is our relaxed, homely and quaint hostel, which has won best hostel in Slovakia two years in a row - however Wild provides that little bit extra ✨spice✨. Wild, is wild. We party hard and we love to go a little crazy at times. Ultimately, both are social hostels, run by, and for backpackers, with a strong emphasis on socializing and community. We love creating new connections, forming lifelong friendships and generating invaluable memories. We are inclusive, open-minded and forward thinking! We have no space for bigots, fascists, or racists, but no matter your social battery, we have a place for everyone else!

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with housekeeping, reception, bar, and putting on various activities.

In order to socialize and engage with guests, we organize many different social activities every day, such as group 'Slovak' lunches, visiting landmarks and museums, thrift shopping, sightseeing, hiking, and lake swims! Some of our activities are a little bit cheekier, like IKEA hide and seek, dance classes, historically inaccurate walking tours, and trivia games! We offer our guests a homemade meal every day and one of our volunteers signs up to be the chef - the meals are required to always be vegan (as it's the most inclusive meal type), made with love and ultimately, delicious 😋. At night we run our own pubcrawls which take our guests to some of the coolest (and often cheapest) bars, and clubs, in town. Our managers were once guests who had truly special experiences and we aim to deliver that same feeling to every guest who embraces what makes us so unique 🤪. We are also travelers, so we know that money can get tight, and therefore we offer several different ways to pick up some extra cash during your stay - feel free to ask us about them when you message!

Our lovely staff is formed from volunteers all over the world - around 15 at a time at each hostel. We also have receptionists and bartenders - positions you can work your way into if you stay with us long enough and have a good work ethic! Our managers are guests turned volunteers turned bartenders and receptionists themselves! We like to make everyone feel welcome from the first moment they walk in. We try to cultivate a safe, comfortable and fun environment for everyone to be themselves and make new connections. We do throw crazy parties and as we are in Slovakia, we do like to drink - but we prioritise taking care of ourselves and others so as to ensure we party responsibly. We ask volunteers to sign up for extra-curricular activities to involve themselves with guests and SOCIALIZE! Every day we provide a volunteer with some money to go and take the guests out for lunch and try the local cuisine - our Slovak lunch is a fan favourite and a great way to meet people in a more intimate setting. Our daily activities are a great way for you to do some exploring and sightseeing, while involving guests in your discovery journey (like an amateur tour guide) We have drinking games every day and offer our volunteers free drinks to lead them. Our dinners are cooked by YOU and every sign up to eat with us is money you get to KEEP! Our pubcrawls have incentives too! Whether you lead or help, you will be rewarded for your time, as well as being the host for the greatest party in Bratislava for the night! Our volunteers are housed in spacious dorms and have every amenity available to them. We have separate dorms for separate positions, and each dorm has a staff fridge, as well as staff fridges available in our kitchens. Each dorm has AC and we enforce quiet hours to provide comfortable sleeps for all our hard-working staff! We also provide you with food and discounted drinks at our bar! As well as incentives for receiving good reviews with your name mentioned! Our cleaning shifts start at a reasonable time (10am) to ensure everyone gets a good amount of rest. And although reception shifts are longer, generally they're the favourite shifts in the hostel (although they're only available to longer term volunteers). We run a meritocracy and try to reward those of us who give 110% however possible. Management is very hands-on, working shifts in conjunction with volunteers and being available for chats, advice, concerns or questions at any point.
