Paraíso Pacuare
A very special and typical place in Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
Close to Tortuguero.
It is not touristic and very authentic.
Sea, jungle and river are surrounding us.
Turtle season will soon start!
The biodiversity is huge (monkeys, sloths, birds, turtles, caimans...).
It is a perfect way to discover Costa Rican culture and Pura Vida way of life.
We are a small local family. We will learn volunteers how to do some small works, and how to take care of the place. My husband and i run the place together. Sometimes we engage local people to help with some works. We love meet and welcome new people and share with them. An assistant will always be here to help organize the work.

I had an amazing time here! The hosts are very helpful and welcoming. The place is very remote, you’re basically staying in the jungle which I loved. Lots of wildlife and right on a beautiful black sand beach. I had fun cooking delicious meals with Hernan and the work hours were respected. I hope I can come back :)

We are very grateful for helping us and sharing a little bit of their energy culture with our family, that the experience in a remote wild place and with the basic conditions can make an experience unique, share the kitchen with the help of Hernán teaching our meals, thank you pura vida...

Mi experiencia en Paraíso Pacuare superó totalmente mis expectativas. Me quedé una semana y no imaginé que disfrutaría tanto del voluntariado como realmente lo hice. La carga horaria de las actividades es muy equilibrada, lo que permite aprender, colaborar y también tener tiempo para conocer la cultura local de Costa Rica.
Estar en contacto constante con la naturaleza y los animales fue, sin duda, una de las mejores partes de toda la experiencia para mí. Fue una vivencia muy especial, enriquecedora y que recomiendo muchísimo.

Desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón quisiéramos agradecerle, que durante esta semana nos ayudaras en nuestra finca, con todas las tareas que te presentamos su participación fue exelente, fue una voluntaria maravillosa desde la llegada de noche con mucha lluvia, vivir al máximo los días aquí, estamos muy agradecidos con todo nuestro corazón, la comunicación fue excelente muy bien gracias pura vida..

Although we only stayed for three days, it was an incredible experience. We got picked up by Patricia and started the trip with the most amazing boat ride to get to the place. There we met Hernan who welcomed us very warmly with a great meal. The work could not have been more interesting, we learned so much from Hernan who really loves all the wildlife on the island. If you want to explore Costa Ricas jungle, learn about the surrounding nature and also have great food and company, this is the right place.
