Ngoai Ngu Tran Tien
We are a volunteer experience that offers a unique blend of being able to help the local people of my town learn English (which in Vietnam is an incredibly useful resource for supporting the future of the people here) and experience what life is like for the local people of Vietnam, away from the larger tourist hotspots. In an environment that is both relaxed and fun!
We have been operating as a school since 2022, however we have only previously accepted volunteers through instagram, which you can find at ''travelers_teach_english4kids''. We are still quite new to Worldpackers, so if you would like to see more about the school I recommend viewing our profile page there! Volunteers at my homestay can expect to be provided 3 meals a day, accomodating all types of diet. Getting to see around my local area during the day and hanging out in the evenings after class, playing games and having a laugh with a couple of drinks too! Classes themselves should be straightforward even for those with no previous teaching experience. We provide lesson plans and learning materials for you!

I enjoyed my time at the homestay. Tien was very nice and helpful, and took care of us. The teaching hours were respected and everyone had so much free time. The kids could be exhausting sometimes but they were still super sweet. I got a chance to get to know the culture and the locals, explore nearby areas and meet a lot of international travelers. Cam on :)

I was really happy with this experience. Tien and the other teachers and volunteers were amazing and always available. The work was not stressful and left plenty of free time to explore the area. I especially loved how it allowed me to immerse myself in the local culture and build a meaningful relationship with the children at the school.

We had a really nice experience at Phan Ri Cua, Tien was very welcoming, always open to help and making sure we had everything we needed. It was a great opportunity to get to know the local culture, meet other international volunteers and visit new places in our free time. Sometimes it was challenging to keep the attention of all the little kids, and it definitely required a lot of energy, but at the end of the day they always brought a smile to our faces. Even though we stayed for only two weeks, it was sad to say goodbye.

Our time at Tien’s homestay was fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone looking a volunteering experience in Vietnam. The working hours are very manageable and leave a lot of time free to explore the local area during the day. The work itself is fun and it is great seeing the positive impact the school has for kids in the local area. It was also great to make connections with other volunteers and we felt welcomed from day one. Thanks for the experience!
