🌟 Hello Everyone! 🌟 I’m Khaled Sabbah, born and raised in the enchanting Wadi Rum desert 🏜️. My childhood was a thrilling adventure filled with racing across sandy dunes, uncovering the desert’s secrets, and conquering majestic mountains ⛰️. Guided by the wisdom of our elders, I embraced the ancient ways of desert living and the cherished customs of my ancestors. At the heart of our heritage lies Bedouin hospitality—a tradition of warmth and generosity that I love to share with volunteers 🤝❤️. Meet My Team 🌍 I’m proud to say that I’m not alone in this journey! Our camp is supported by a dedicated team of local clansmen, all passionate about ensuring the smooth operation of our camp and the unforgettable tours we offer. We strive to pass down the invaluable knowledge entrusted to us by our elders, ensuring that our traditions live on for future generations 📜✨. During the vibrant seasons of fall and spring, our team grows to include more members from Rum Village, each one committed to delivering exceptional tourism experiences 🌅. Travelers arrive as volunteers but leave as friends! 🤗 We deeply respect all cultures and are excited to share our traditions and language while learning about yours in return. Together, we create a beautiful tapestry of shared experiences and lasting connections!

The volunteering was nice and easy . I stayed there for 2 weeks and it was interesting and fun experience . There were also other volunteers who helped and with whom I explored the desert.I recommend to anyone who wants to chill, see the desert and be part of bedouin life. Thank you Khaled for the opportunity and good luck to you and your family , see you next time if not as volunteer then as a guest. Greetings from Mahmood :)

I just left the camp and I already miss it. This felt like a once in a lifetime experience and I only hope I can come again to volunteer and change that to “twice+”

Khaled is an open, honest, respectful, generous host who treated me like family. I learned so much about desert life from him and his family. The desert is awe-inspiring, and perfect if you like long walks, climbs, and just sitting and thinking - or going on tours/hikes on your days off. Honestly, I felt like I grew as a person here and would recommend this to anyone who sees the Wadi Rum and feels excitement and intrigue. Do it.

The experience was overall good, but the beginning was difficult. Due to previous volunteers, I didn’t feel very welcomed at first, and being told I was “on trial for 3 days” created insecurity, especially in a desert environment. I have experience in many volunteer projects, but the start was not ideal. Over time things became calmer and more respectful. Keep in mind this is a desert camp with limited comforts. I worked extra hours and didn’t receive days off or tours as listed. The host is a good person, and I respect him. I recommend the experience, but also check other options in wadirum

Khaled and his family are so welcoming and accommodating. During my time here, my work was straightforward and flexible. The experience isn’t about the work though- it’s to immerse yourself in the landscapes and the lifestyle, to learn some Arabic phrases, to enjoy tea by the fire every night, to get to know the lovely family that has run this camp for generations. Khaled’s camp is a special place and I would 10/10 recommend the experience to others. ❤️
