The volunteers have the advantage to arrive to the most tourisitc city in Ecuador. Cuenca is a really thrilling city which combines all the advantages of the modern world alongside a classic, baroque and antique scenery.
In Salc Cuenca we have all the commodities for the volunteers’ enjoyment, near the downtown and the best touristic spots within the city.
Here at Salc Cuenca we are eager to assist the volunteers on all their needs; starting from covering their basic needs, such as commodities, food and shelter, to recommendations to touristic places, chance to meet the students, participate in activities either inside or outside the institute, and being able to get involved with the culture of the country and of our lovely city.

It was a great experience getting to know the teachers, administrators, and students, and the environment is beautiful, including the city and the school. I will really miss it a lot. The school is very clean, friendly, and active. I truly recommend this volunteering experience.

The collaboration with the students was the best part. However, conversation sessions took place in front of the welcome desk with constant noise from street traffic, arriving and departing motorcycles, and students. Accommodations were on a very busy street with only a reprieve from the noise between 11/12 p.m. - 5 a.m. The easy access to the stay and hot water issues were of concern. The schedule did not adhere to what was previously discussed, and resulted in an unworkable situation.

I didn't stay at the property, I got an airB&B, took a taxi. The room was dirty, they said they had a housekeeper, she handed me a broom and dust pan, told me she will clean the bathroom the following Monday. The sheets and blankets were dirty and the bathroom had no liner in the garbage. The apartment opens at 7:45am with the teachers speaking loudly which echos into the small rooms on that floor. They keep the apartment open until 9pm which didn't make me feel safe. I was the only volunteer. Communication could have been better, so they switched the contact guy which was an improvement
