Hostel 2300 Thomar

We are located in one of the most beautiful cities of Portugal, TOMAR. A city where history comes around you in every corner, in every building. A city full of esotericism where the Knight Templars have had their headquarters, and still have...
Our Hostel is located in "Corredoura", the main street of the city centre, called like that because it was the street where the Knight Templars rode their horses to the Castle in the hill above.
We have a very pleasant Hostel, full of light and energy. Our guests are allways pleased to stay with us and we are allways pleased to receive people, from all over the world.
We also have a very Design Hostel, with a beautiful decoration inspired in portuguese popular culture, which make us unique and special.
We care about little details, and we want our guest to feel special and, most of all, we want them to feel at home.

It was my first Worldpackers expierence, could not have wished for a better place to start! From day one I was welcomed very friendly and have found a very relaxed and easygoing atmosphere during the whole stay. I felt very included as part of the team. Tomar, being a calm and slow paced town, still felt lively with some tourists and pilgrims passing by. Lots of hike places around parks, river and countryside to explore during the plenty of free time. I certainly feel like I would come back for another round and would recommend this place to others.

my experience was simply flawless: from the work hours/load to the city itself. The hostel is kept very well and what you're required to do is absolutely well balanced considering that you get a free stay. It was my first worldpackers experience ever and I believe I couldn't have gotten any luckier! The staff was always very nice to me (so grateful to carlos, renato and alexandra!!) and helped me a lot the first few days when I was still a bit disoriented. Tomar has everything you need: shops, restaurants, a train/bus station from which you can go almost anywhere in Portugal, and just the plac

Overall, definitely recommend! The hours were super manageable & the city had a fun medieval feel.
Hostel: You get a bed in a shared space & the bunks don’t have dividers. The WiFi was a bit spotty, but so long as you take a bunk by the door you’re good. The free laundry and kitchen usages were huge pluses. Bring earplugs, nearby restaurant loud
Job: You’re basically a janitor. Clean bathrooms, remake beds, that’s it. I almost always got out early and that was completely fine with staff.
Advice: be flexible. I was moved twice during my stay, but the boss was flexible in return w/ time off.

It has been absolute my pleasure to volunteer here for 1 month. Thank you for having me Renato, Sonia, Carlos, Alexandra, and Natalla.

Workload is not heavy, and most of the times we finished within 2~3 hours.
Most of the guests are pilgrims of El Camino de Santiago, so they stay here only 1 day, therefore it's a bit different atmosphere (guests age range, early riser, quiet night etc). For me it was perfect, as that's what I was looking for. Even their stay is usually short, I still met and made friends with a lot of great people from all over the world.

Hope to come back here one day.😊
