Class on the Clouds

Volunteering with "Class on the clouds" means more than just helping out—it’s about becoming part of a real community in the breathtaking mountains of Northern Vietnam (Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Xim Vang).

This is a chance to make a direct, sustainable impact. You won't just be a tourist; you'll live 100% free with local ethnic minority families (our Hosts), sharing meals, stories, and real moments. You will empower children and local Easy Riders with the English skills they need to build a better future in tourism.

If you want to give back, slow down, and discover the true, unfiltered heart of Vietnam where the clouds touch the mountains, this is for you.

We are a small but passionate team made up of local families, community leaders, and friends who deeply care about our land, our culture, and the future of our children. We treat every volunteer like part of the family—with kindness, respect, and lots of tea shared around the fire! Volunteers can expect to be welcomed with open hearts. We believe in cultural exchange, in listening and learning from one another, and in building a sustainable path forward together. By joining us, you're not just helping—you’re becoming a part of something meaningful.

Thank you, Alex, for the amazing month you spent with us.
During this time, you brought so many beautiful memories, laughter, and meaningful moments to everyone. Through you, we shared cultures, learned more about Vietnam and its traditions, and most importantly, created a truly human connection.
The kids loved you so much, and saying goodbye was not easy at all.
This was more than just a volunteer experience — it was a heartfelt journey that we will always cherish.

I spent one month with Class on the Clouds as a volunteer teacher. I taught in Ha Giang city the first two weeks then moved to Meo Vac for the last two. The schedule was pretty easy, with 1-2 classes per day leaving most of the day free to explore or help out at the homestay. The lessons for each class had to be planned by the volunteers, but it wasn’t too difficult.

Overall, I had a great experience where I was able to interact with many new people who I can now call my friends. Best of luck to the project and to any future volunteers!

Class on clouds has a few sites. I was volunteering in Meo Vac and I truly had the time of my life. Stayed three weeks, and I was taken care of nicely. I was provided with lunch and dinner, and I was teaching English - two classes a day. The kids were amazing, full of energy and enthusiastic. Don't be afraid if you have never thought before, you can do it, and you will surely have fun.
I loved my time there. I will keep the memories in my heart forever.

We stayed with Class on Clouds in Ha Giang for 5 weeks and had the best experience. This was our first volunteering position so we weren’t sure what we were getting ourselves into, but honestly we couldn’t have had a better community and location. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly, and invited us to join in on local traditions and festivities the whole time we were there. All the students were keen to learn and very thankful for our knowledge we were able to share with them.
