Caleta San Jose Ecolodge
This project has been looking after the conservation of this unique place in the world for the past 25 years and counting! We are undertaking regenerative development to inspire others to live more in harmony with nature. Creating an oasis where the desert Andean Mountains dive into the Pacific Ocean.
We are a family-run project; my dad and I live in Arequipa city, but we often visit, especially he, who is the founder. The staff is from around Peru, with approximately 4-5 people during the slow season and more than 10 during the summer. We have a private room for volunteers and provide the 3 main meals of the day.

Had a great time at Caleta San José! My tasks were varied, and contributed with everything from helping in the kitchen to help out on the boat with fishing. On your free time you have access to snorkeling equipment, kayaks and paddle boards.

Como ha sucedido en anteriores voluntariados, éste superó mis expectativas. Contención, empatía, respeto, consideración, paciencia, asesoramiento sobre tareas específicas, cuidados,etc es lo que percibí en éste lugar. Con una convivencia tan cómoda que me sentí como en mi casa esta vez con una "nueva familia ". Como lo expresé con el anfitrión y con cada una de las personas que tuve la oportunidad de compartir esta bella experiencia.

La Caleta San José es un lugar tranquilo y aislado que permite descansar, conectar con momentos reflexivos, creativos y contemplativos. Cuando llegan turistas el ambiente se torna más dinámico y acelera los requerimientos en torno al trabajo, el cual se vicula a apoyo en cocina, atención a público y limpieza de habitaciones.
Las personas que ahí habitan son todas amables y a medida que pasan los días se van abriendo a contar sus historias y perspectivas de vida. Ahí tuve la posibilidad de remar, hacer paseo en barcaza, hacer caminatas y nadar.
