I had the most amazing time on the home. The community was amazing and I was so sad to leave!

Its a very good experience to learn more about ECO farm. We made a plan together and make a start with a brand new eco farm!

Applied for 2 weeks of farming. Only on my day of arrival, the host Ahyak told me that they don't need farming volunteer but English teaching. It turned to be a not very pleasant experience. Ahyak and his the home arrange after work activities for volunteers as it is a community without too many international travelers. But during the very first group dinner I joined, the president of the home Mr Azis talked a lot about politics and asked me many times why Chinese don't speak English.

It was really niceI really enjoyed my volunteering experience in the home. It was fun and I had the chance to connect with so many people that it truly felt like being part of a family. I got a real insight into the local life and culture, and it was amazing to be part of it. Overall, it was a great experience that I'll always remember.

It was my first time volunteering with Worldpackers. I had a great time and the kids are the best. It was my first time teaching English but I had a lot of fun. I recommend planning each lesson in advance. Other than that you get your privacy in your own house or room and they also host music nights which are fun. It is a big the home, so each experience can differ quite a lot depending on where you stay and what work you do. But I am very happy with how things worked and had a great experience. Thank you to everyone!

I had an incredible time at the homestay - this was such an eye opening experience! The family were so welcoming and I was provided with everything I could possibly need. My host took me on some very interesting day trips as well and I felt like part of the family. The teaching side of this homestay experience was a bit chaotic which was the only downside- I would definitely recommend going in with a plan for teaching English as I did feel a bit out of my comfort zone.

Very welcoming. Amazing clean little house to stay in, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. With air con and hot water. Expect some bugs and some geckos. Amazing home cooked meals 3 times a day.2hours work a day teaching English to local children. wifi very slow, recommend having Indonesian Sim. Respect the culture and the loudspeaker calls to prayer 5 times a day. No cafes, many warungs and indomarts. The people are happy and curious as they don't see many tourists. I recommend making a program with the teacher as you run your own program. Heaps of fun, beautiful children.
