Programa detallado

Horses of Gili is a horse welfare and care program dedicated to improving the lives of working ponies on Gili Trawangan. As a volunteer, you'll be directly involved in daily stable routines, pony care, cleaning, grooming, and supporting the wellbeing of the horses in our care.

*IMPORTANT*
This program is not suitable for beginners. Minimum horse or pony experience is strictly required. Our ponies have daily needs that require confident, calm, and knowledgeable handling, and volunteers must already be familiar with basic horse care and stable work.

This is a hands-on, sometimes dirty, but deeply rewarding experience. Rainy days can mean muddy stables, early mornings, and real work - but also real impact. We are looking for volunteers who are reliable, respectful, and genuinely passionate about horse welfare.

Actividades & Turnos

Our schedule is as follows:

Morning: We take the ponies to the beach for socializing from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.

Afternoon: The afternoon routine runs from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

*Day off can be scheduled in advance, but volunteers must complete at least 1 full week before taking a day off.

We kindly ask all volunteers to respect the working hours and guidelines. If these aren’t followed, we may need to ask you to leave.

Reglas

*ACCOMMODATION*
We provide free shared accommodation in a basic dormitory-style room that sleeps up to 8 people. This is a simple, practical dorm - comfortable but not a luxury.
The dorm includes: Shared en-suite bathroom with shower, air conditioning, Wifi.

Breakfast is NOT INCLUDED. You may arrange breakfast directly with the accommodation if you wish, or cook for yourself. There are many affordable food options nearby. The accommodation is located in a quiet and safe area.

*DORM RULES*
This accommodation is for volunteers who value rest, responsibility, and a calm environment.

NO PARTIES : While Gili Trawangan is known for nightlife, our property is peaceful and not a party place.
NO DRUGS (strictly enforced)
NO HANGOVERS : If you choose to drink alcohol, please do so responsibly. You must be fit and reliable for your duties.
QUIET TIME AFTER 10 PM

Failure to respect these rules may result in removal from the accommodation.

*IMPORTANT NOTES FOR OUR FUTURE VOLUNTEERS*
- Please apply for a TOURIST VISA before arriving. We do not sponsor volunteer visas.
- After your application is approved, we will send you a registration form via Whatsapp with further information. This must be completed before arrival.
- Food is NOT included in the work exchange program. Breakfast, if available, is optional, paid separately, and arranged directly with the accommodation
