My volunteer experience at the school as an English teacher was truly meaningful to me. Spending time with the kids, teaching them English, and creating fun lessons never felt like work- it was something I genuinely loved. Seeing their smiles and excitement made every day special. The teachers and helpers at the school were incredibly kind and supportive and respectful, which made the experience even better. I also had the chance to meet amazing people along the way, and those connections and memories will always stay with me. I'm very grateful for my time at the school. Thank you!

Kenta was amazing and so was volunteering at this anazing place. Not only was it a wonderful experience by teaching English to kids of all ages, but I also learned to connect with one another and build stronger friendships that I know will last a lifetime. The place is nice and cozy, giving you a traditional ryokan experience while also having stores nearby to get food and necessities. I am truly grateful to have been a part of this and would 100% recommend this to everyone:)

I cannot recommend the school enough! This was my first volunteer through worldpackers and it was everything I could've asked for. The work is easy and meaningful, the house has everything you need, the little town is cozy and peaceful and surrounded by nature and trails, I met the most amazing people ever and I learned so much about myself! Thank you Fumi-san (thank you for bringing me fruits all the time 🥹), Kaede and Kenta for the hospitality and for making me feel at home. I'll forever be grateful for this opportunity and I'll never forget this experience.

This was truly an amazing experience. It was my first time volunteering, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the volunteering world. Tsuru is small, but it has everything you need, and you have a great view of Mt Fuji. Tokyo is nearby and the weekends are free, so I was able to enjoy overnight trips in different places around Japan. The kids were great and the work was easy, only 2-3 hours a day in the evening, leaving your day free too. Fumi-san and Kaede-san are super kind and will take good care of you. I reccomend this opportunity to everyone :)

My experience at the school was wonderful!! Teaching english to japanese kids is so meaningful, and what I had to do was easy and fun. I've met amazing friends and locals I will never forget. The school and dorm feels like a nice place to stay, with traditional and cozy rooms. Having most of the day free I've could really enjoyed the town of Tsuru, and going into small restaurants just to eat delicious food, being able to walk in mountains so easily was everything I wanted! It's also easy to move to other towns around like Fujiyoshida or Tokyo. Thank you so much Kaede, Fumi-san and Kenta!

Due to several changes in my schedule and problems flying to the country, I ultimately couldn't make it to the place. But during the time I was with the group, I could see how close-knit they were, how well-organized everything was—the schedules, the volunteer outings...everything seemed fantastic. The host is very kind and understanding; he always spoke very highly of me, and I'm very grateful for everything. See you next time!

I stayed at the school for 3 weeks (Nov17-Dec7), I loved my stay here! Teaching English here was easy, I especially enjoyed ChatSpot with adults; the most challenging class for me was K class (kindergarten students). I also learnt ESL games and teaching methods from others. During my 1st week, there were a total of 8 volunteers; and Kaede the staff was very kind to arrange me only classes at 5:30pm or 6pm, so I had the whole day free! I loved walking around Lake Kawaguchiko and exploring Tsuru! I was very lucky to be just in time for both the Maple Leaf Festival and the Tsuru Alps Hiking!

I spend a wonderful month at the school. I really enjoyed volunteering there and going to the kindergarten. Teaching is easy and the kids are absolutly lovely. Every class was a nice time. I miss running after the kids and playing with them. One of my best volunteering memories ! The place we stay at is really spacious. I enjoyed our movie night, the game we played and our dancing night ! There is plenty of hike to do, with a nice view on mont Fuji, to make it perfect ! A big thanks to Kenta, Fumi-san and Kaede for this experience !

First of all, I want to thank Kaede, Fumisan and Kenta for their kindness and hospitality; they truly made me feel at home. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity where you can contribute your help and also have free time, this is definitely the right place. I really enjoyed teaching the students at the school, and I loved exploring the surroundings while creating a family with the other volunteers. I 100% recommend it! I hope I can come back someday. These two weeks have been incredible!

Amazing team, great accomodation and the cutest children to work with! Couldn't recommend enough - Kaede, Fumi-san and Kenta are so helpful with anything you need, and always putting others first. So kind! Accomodation itself was nice, typical Japanese household, and it helps that it is right above the school so you don't have to travel far at all. They top up the kitchen 3x a week with onions, potatos, hot cake mix, ramen and eggs. Once again, loved my stay here and hopefully can return one day 🥹🫶
