Hours and tasks were as agreed on so no problems there. House was comfortable and had everything needed provided. I had trouble getting on with the host and got the impression he did not want us there, barely speaking to me for the first few days and treating conversations as if they were business meetings . The other volunteers made the experience better and the location is beautiful.

In this beautiful location, the host is truly building a stunning home! Unfortunately, the experience is not one I would recommend to those looking to live comfortably… The beds were very uncomfortable, and the bedding was not adequate to keep us warm at night. Pairing this with no hot water meant you had to choose between being warm or being clean. There is no fridge, so the food is basic and lacking nutrients and protein. Although this experience was not for me, the surrounding area is beautiful and the work is rewarding.

- We do have hot water, and most volunteers find the beds comfortable. We also exceed Worldpackers’ food guidelines, offering quality meals / drinks which this couple enjoyed without complaint.

Their review is misleading and disappointing and regreatble at how two faced they were :(.

It is so beautiful at the villa, the views are amazing! However, be prepared to stay in an old building like they said. Our water heater broke so we had cold showers, and the kitchen was quite run-down. With no heating, it did get quite cold at night. The hosts were welcoming. I enjoyed the meals they provided! I will say that you are held to a high standard of work with them monitoring your every step which can be stressful. It was difficult to go out and explore because you need a car to leave the town. Most of the time I was so tired that I didn't have the energy to leave anyways.

In terms of the volunteer experience, we do expect a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this volunteer's contribution didn’t meet the standards we uphold — the work was often lacking in effort and quality. While she did seem to enjoy the food and being taken around, we believe volunteering is a two-way exchange and expect more active participation in return.

I would recommend to go in the summer, or with extra blankets and coats and pants, because it can be very cold when there is no sun. Even with a sleeping bag and 3 (thin) blankets we were cold. Except the fact that the host could provide better blankets, it is obviously not his fault, because he did notice us before hand that it could be cold. The first few days were really nice, but then S. started being a little rude, acting like we didn't want to work (because we woke up later that 7:30am, and that is after telling us he was super flexible and chill) and giving me the silent treatment…

Regarding the end of your stay, after we couldn’t accommodate your last-minute request for an extra night, we noticed a change in attitude. Participation in tasks dropped, and the focus shifted away from shared work. We value mutual respect and contribution, and it’s unfortunate this balance was lost.

If you are looking for stunning views, peace, tranquillity, and a place to connect with nature, this is the perfect spot. In my case, it was just the host and me working together for a week. The host is very calm, respectful, attentive to make sure everything is okay, and flexible. The villa is amazing and well-preserved for its age, but still needs some work. We were cutting down trees and plastering a ceiling. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience because I was looking to do some physical activity, and I love renovating. Thank you once again for the experience and for your kindness!

The host were immensely respectful and caring. I enjoyed helping to clean, restore and paint the villa. The natural environment is amazing and even though there is work to do, it is a very charming house, creating an enjoyable experience. I recommend 100% enrolling at this volunteer.

Amazing experience in the home. Everything was perfect, the house is very big and beautiful it needs lots of work but I can help S.N with sand and painting fences and windows in the morning hours or in the evening depends on the weather. We cooked and had dinner and lunch together and we could visit others villages with him. SN respected and was flexible with agreeded dates, tasks, work and free time hours and house rules. I really recommend this experience!!
